Julie knew that some people found it unfathomable that she'd been here for so much of her teenage years, but for her it was just life, and she was quite used to it. It didn't bother her as much as it had when they'd first moved here. Yeah, she still had her moments when she wished there were more to do, more places to go, more opportunity to see the world, but for now, she was content with working and going to school and just everyday living.
"Ahh, I see." There was a little itch in the back of her mind at that, trying to connect who his aunt might be since she did know at least the faces of most of the people on the island from people coming into the diner. "Yeah, they do. I guess we all got the poison, but it's kind of nice that we're all together still. It took mine longer to show itself, and I'd wondered what would happen if I never did get one, if they'd let me move back to the mainland or something." She realized that she'd started rambling, and she flushed, glancing back out at the water.
