That he was willing to think about the weather to get whatever it was off his mind spoke volumes to just how focused on it his mind must be and how much he didn't want to be dwelling on it. She was curious, but she didn't think asking would be appropriate since he clearly didn't want to think about it.
"Ahh," she said softly, that comment giving her a little more insight into the circles his mind was going in. Julie had some sappy little quip about how the heart wants what the heart wants, and knowing nothing would happen didn't mean the heart would readily let go of what it wanted. She held back, though, because she didn't really think it would be helpful.
It seemed inevitable that she would start to feel awkward and at a loss of words. She did fine in groups, great at work, but whenever she was alone with a guy, she always felt like a silly little girl. She watched with some curiosity as he continued to play with the rock with his power. "What? Oh!" His question took her by surprise, and she flushed a little bit before silently calling up the wind. It blew in from the water and swirled around them, bringing mist from the ocean with it. She grinned almost shyly at him as the wind died back again.
