Kidding Around (tag: Loki; later open to anybody at Ninkasi's bar)
He was a sucker. He was such a sucker. And the thing was, even though he knew he was a sucker, he couldn't help but do what he'd done. There hadn't even been a question. He couldn't have said no even had it been just Ninkasi doing the asking; he'd do anything for the goddess he thought of as a sister. But when compounded by the other elements involved, the battle had been lost before it even began.
However, the situation did present a few problems. The primary one being that he didn't have a residence on Midgard. And his home in Asgard was simply not an option. It could, and would, cause too many questions. And problems. Not to mention that anything could happen in that sort of environment.
So after a full three minutes and forty-seven seconds of thought, Thor came up with a plan. Maybe it wasn't the best plan he'd ever come up with, but he was sure this would be good. For several reasons. It would. There'd be benefits, in ways he couldn't imagine, but hoped for. Probably. Hopefully.
Once he was standing on Loki's doorstep, however, he had some doubts. What if Loki wasn't home? What if he was but the shaky truce between them wasn't all that strong? What if Sigyn was home? And she had that bat Loki had described? This could be far worse than he anticipated.
Before he could rethink his options however, the five year-old boy that had been clinging to his leg reached up and rang the doorbell. And kept ringing it. Really, the child didn't so much press the button as hold it down. In his arms, the boy's two year-old sister giggled, and Thor couldn't help but grin at her.
“'Kay now,” he rumbled gently, reaching down to wrap his free arm around the little tyke. Lifting him off the ground, he said, “Once and wait, that's how it works.”
The kid immediately reached out to push the door bell again, and Thor turned to keep him from reaching it. The boy giggled, then it turned into a full fledged belly laugh as his baby sister took his cue and rang the bell instead. Thor grinned.
