Re: Isis & Thoth -- Sigyn leaving
As Sigyn walked away, Isis felt as if she had let her friend down. Sigyn had so few people she could rely on, and Isis had done little to help her. Was there nothing more she could do?
"I feel as if I let her down," she confided in her uncle. Thoth would understand, Isis knew. "I just don't know what I can do that Odin already isn't." She finished her glass of wine, and deciding she could use another looked up at Thoth with questioning eyes. "I need a refresher. Walk with me?"
As they passed Zeus and a pair of goddesses, Isis could not resist the urge to sneeze. "Why must women insist on wearing cologne that smells like bug spray?" she asked rhetorically in muffled tones after using her handkerchief to delicately dab her nose. "What ever happened to delicate feminine fragrances?"
Isis knew that her reaction was more than it probably would have been had she been in a better frame of mind. She really needed that drink. And probably a little food before said drinks got the better of her.
"I'll talk to Horus," she continued after getting a fresh glass of wine. "Maybe he will have a suggestion." Bast, too, she considered. If there was someone who could check around without it looking like she was checking around, it was her cat-like daughter. If worse came to worse she could always stick Fatima on the situation.
That woman could tell when something was up just by sniffing the air, Isis swore.
