Time To Get Naughty (Bast) [05 Oct 2010|02:54pm]
Of course the very first thing Anansi did once the Ambrosia and Nectar were in his hands was find Bast. It was who he had intended to share it with in the first place. He thought that she would love it, and more than that, love the story of how he'd gotten it. She was always in the mood for a story. And when it came to him tricking others, well... she could laugh the prettiest, wickedest laugh he'd ever heard.

It was why she was his best friend. More than that, really. Why he was ... well, so fond of her. Had they not met, so many thousands of years ago, his life would have been a far emptier place. It was another goddess that had coaxed him out of his shell - so to speak. Another that had convinced him that remaining in a child's body after so long was silly. But it was Bast who had filled his life with light. It had hurt a little, growing up while she was still in her youth, but Nephy had been correct. He had remained a child for entirely too long.

Anansi went right to her temple first. Didn't knock. Why would he?

"Kitty." He called out. "Here kitty, kitty. Anansi has something very special for you."

He was, of course, still keyed up from tricking the Greek. Even if she'd gotten the answer right, he would have found a way to convince her she was wrong. She would have been mad later, they were always mad later. But that didn't matter to him. Luckily, she hadn't gotten it right and he'd won fair and square. Well, maybe not fair. When did he ever truly play fair?

Perhaps with Bast.

There seemed to be a weird tension in here. And where were the attendants? This was all very abnormal, he was starting to realize. Something had to be going on. Now he wanted to find Bast to make sure that she was alright before he gave her what he'd brought her. If she wasn't alright, well, he'd find whoever hurt her and do something really horrible to them. He could think of many things, and they were all starting to flood into his mind at once. Anger starting to get the best of him before he'd even really found out that anything needed to be done. He was going on the feeling of her temple more than anything.

"Bast?"

The Waiting Is Death (Nikki) [05 Oct 2010|03:21pm]
Oi really didn't know what to do with herself. She had called for Kray and something in her had expected him to answer right away. To come running to hear her explanations. Not that she would ever demand such a thing from him. It was just the way things were left off. She was certain that he'd want it all over with one way or another. Like she did. She was at a point that she didn't really want anything more than to tell him what she had to tell him. She dreaded it, but she wanted to do it. To make it fair. So that he could know, really know, what was going on with her.

Lottie had been right, of course. He did need to know those things, and she really should have been up front with them. There was a chance she'd ruined everything. Even so, he had to know the truth. Even if he decided he never even wanted to talk to her again, she had to tell him what had happened. What kept happening, really. She didn't think there was any way to turn that portion of her brain off, or make it fade away, so she'd probably be like this forever. If he decided he wanted to be with her, he'd have to deal with it forever.

That thought did nothing to make her feel any better. Who in their right mind would ever purposefully put themselves in a situation like this when they knew about it before hand? Perhaps that's why she hadn't told him. Because she'd known somewhere deep inside that if she did, he would have cut and run before anything began.

The truth of the matter was that there wasn't anybody suited to handle her. There was nobody out there that matched up with her the way that some couples did. Mom and Daddy. Aether and that goddamned blond witch. Her idea of love did not fit in with herself. She had romanticized it far too much for it to work.

Oizys found herself not wanting to be in the Underworld - he'd called before when she'd been there and she'd not heard him somehow. She also sure as hell didn't want to venture up to Olympus. That would look like stalking. She thought about going to Vegas, but found herself worried she'd run into Zelos there. She then thought of going back to the aquarium, but decided there would probably be too much hurt hanging in the air. She found herself coming up with negative reasons to be anywhere she thought of. Right up until she decided to just go somewhere.

And found herself standing on Alcatraz Island.

"This seems somehow fitting." She sighed at herself. "Way to pick someplace cheery, Oi."
