A call for forgiveness (Nanshe) [25 Jun 2009|02:55am]
She had failed utterly in finding somebody to help her prepare for whatever it was that Nergal was going to bring down upon her for what she'd done. She was sure that, by now, he had figured out - or had been convinced - that she hadn't been coerced by Erebos. He might have even come to the conclusion that she had, in fact, initiated the attack.

Ereshkigal was almost certain that her end was near. Nergal was going to bring down a fiery wrath upon her, and there would be very little that she could do to counter it. Lest she bring to earth the numerous dead, she had no way to fight him.

As Queen of the Underworld, this was within her power, and her discretion, to do. But it seemed wrong to her to bring them forth for a petty reason such as this. To disturb their peace just to protect herself from a punishment she likely had coming.

Even still, with this knowledge, she couldn't regret what she'd done. She'd wanted to be free of him. She'd thought that she'd finally found a way. If they'd only had a better plan of attack. If only they'd had the foresight to not do it at the ball... maybe he would be gone now. She did regret, however, one thing about it. Nanshe.

Had Ereshkigal been able to find Nanshe, she still would not have gone to her. She was afraid that it would be seen as further attack. There was no way that she could fault Nanshe for what she'd tried to do, and didn't want to instill further worry.

It wasn't an issue anyway, because Nashe was hidden away from her. So she had to go through a different route.

Reshi set up a small shrine near a crystal blue lake. On it, she placed ancient items that were familiar to Nanshe. Other times that she knew that Nanshe favored. And lastly, flowers that she knew that Nanshe would find beautiful.

"Nanshe." Ereshkigal rested on her knees before the offerings with her head bowed. "Your Queen begs of you your forgiveness. Please, come speak with me. I will do you no harm. You have my word, placed on the very foundation of Irkalla, no harm will come to you."
