Setting The Wheels In Motion (tag: Frigg) [22 Dec 2008|04:39pm]
This was not Sif's idea of a good time.

She'd made a promise, though, and she intended to keep it. Whether she was really doing it for Sigyn or Loki, it boiled down to the same thing. She needed to keep an ear out for any word of a threat. To that end, she'd decided it might be time to make an appearance in Vingolf. Unfortunately, it was not likely to be her last. This was only the first of many visits to try to get the other women to be comfortable with her again.

As the wife of Thor, it was both her duty and her right to take her place once again among the Asyniur, now that she had returned to reside permanently in Asgard, and she was counting on that to avoid suspicion. It would likely please her husband, too, though he would know precisely why she was doing it. He'd been understanding to a fault about her talk with Sigyn, even if he maybe wasn't one hundred percent pleased about it.  He'd at least seen the merits in her attempt to give the God of Mischief a warning, and she hadn't gone running off to Loki himself, which no doubt helped his ability to accept her choice.

Mistakes (tag: Nergal) [22 Dec 2008|05:04pm]
Demons.

Pesky critters, in Bes' opinion. If there was anything he took more delight in than his own particular methods of celebrating life, it was protecting homes and families, even more so when one of the beasts tried to take hold. He'd heard the prayer, from one in his homeland who still remembered him, referring to him by his ancient name of Bisu. They were few now, and most often it was his wife who let him know when there was suspicious activity. The fact that it was a mortal that called to him made him feel honored, and even more determined to take care of the problem.

It hadn't taken Bes long to lure the evil one out of the home with his sistrums and music. Peculiar things they were, to be so attracted to the very sounds that also made them cringe. One look at the Protector, however, and the demon was on the run. His own alternate appearance was frighteningly familiar to those of its kind, and his reputation preceded him. While his duty was normally to simply chase them away, he was still touched by the human's call, and was not going to leave it at that this time. He was determined to see that it wouldn't be able to choose another abode. This one needed to be permanently removed from the mortal realm.
