Enough is Enough (tag: Artemis) [30 Sep 2008|02:46pm]
He stood on the hill, gazing up at the clouds in contempt. Olympus. His former home, as it currently stood.

Something had to be done. Enyo's current state was as unacceptable to Ares as it was to his sister. She would hardly wither away like a wilted flower while in such a state, but she did run the risk of all the things mortals had to face. He could hardly imagine her dealing with a common cold, much less having to watch her behavior and habits to keep her head attached. He tried to imagine living without any of his powers, going through the menial tasks men had been forced to perform since the beginning of their existence. That in and of itself was nearly impossible, but it became even moreso when he contemplated it from Enyo's perspective.

Resurfacing [Styyyyxxxlingssss!!!!!] [30 Sep 2008|11:53pm]
Time was a tricksome thing, especially on the outermost blackened loop of the Styx. A minute on the mortal plane could be an hour or a week on the banks of her river -- or it could be a half-second, gone before mortal minds could calculate it. Even with her divinity, Hate had lost time more than once while resting at her Underworld temple. The last time she'd slept so hard, she'd woken up to find that her love interest had moved on - to her sister, no less! The anger had long since faded for Cloey, but Styx could still remember...

Liquid black sluiced off her form and left her pale and refreshed. Red silk formed with the leaving of her river and wrapped over her skin in familiar places. Her hair... Styx fingered the drying strands and found them Cloey-red, not Bia-blue. It made sense... but the reversion reminded her of how she'd last seen her daughter. Bia hadn't been well. Not by any estimation.

With a glance backward at her silver-columned temple - and she didn't admit whose presence she was looking for - Styx took herself upward into the light of Olympus. Familiar, the brightness, but after so long in the velvety deeps, it was an adjustment. She stood on white cobblestones and blinked until the vista of the path to Zeus' temple became more defined. And then she was off...

If Bia wasn't home, then surely one of her others would be. Any one of them could tell her the things the mother in her needed to know.
