It was quiet, mostly. There was the water lapping against the wooden planks, and the telltale sound of the creaking oar as the boatman steered the boat down the canal. Ninkasi was taking it all in as she had decided to relax there after a rather eventful night. Laid out on her back, with large black sunglasses, she let the morning sun soak into her darkened skin. The small canopy placed on the gondola was shielding her from any immediate light, so she wasn't all too worried about the sun glaring in her eyes when they came out from under the bridges they passed. She also didn't mind the tourists gawking as they leaned over the sides. She wasn't here for them to see. She was here because it was relaxing. Prime tourist time would be around noon to late at night anyway. Those famed romantic rides, though that made her want to get up and check the cushions. ( She brushed the thought off for now. ) |
