Mothers’ Day (tag: Isis) [11 Jul 2008|03:17am]
Her talk with Thoth had confirmed what Sekhmet had expected; the war between Set and Horus had ended before it even had time to begin. That was more than fine with Sek. She might be a goddess of war, but she had been dreading the thought of having to go to war against her own people. If it had gone all the way, she would have fought with Set, even though that meant she would have fought her beloved Isis and Bast. It would not have been loyalty to either Upper or Lower Egypt that would have kept her at Set’s side; it would have been because Horus was in the wrong.

Luckily, Sia had gotten off his cloud (or whatever) and he had made Thoth put things to right. Set had his crown back and was off nursing his bruised ego. She had a sneaking suspicion that Horus was doing the same thing. Sek wasn’t too concerned about either of those boys, they both had been long overdue for getting taken down a peg or two. She was, however, worried about Isis. Thoth said he had spoken to her as well.

Poor Isis may have had a big hand in how the whole mess had started, but Sek could understand her motivation. Isis had only been trying to help her son, like any good mother. It might not have been completely legal, but considering Horus’ history with Set it was a reasonable thing to do. Sek hoped Thoth hadn’t been too hard on Isis. She really hadn’t done anything that terrible.

Although, Sek was still upset that no one got pictures of Set as the Toad of Chaos.

Sekhmet went to Isis’ home and thought about knocking. But that was rarely something any of them worried about. At least it was something Sek rarely worried about. Age had its privileges after all.

“Aset? Hey, baby, are you available to a cranky old lioness?”

First Date – Now (tag: Oizys) [11 Jul 2008|07:44pm]
Zelos felt better than he had in a long while. He had snuck back into the rooms he shared with his siblings and somehow managed to make it back to his apartment without being seen. He really did feel better after his talk with Apate, but he still wasn’t up to talking about what had happened with Kratos or Nike. Before he could deal with them, he needed something different, something that could be a lot of fun.

He took a quick shower and shaved, looking much better than he had when he had dropped in on his aunt. His eyes had lost that haunted look he had been carrying since their encounter with Akheron. The cocky glint of Rivalry was back and it only dimmed for a moment when he thought about his uncle. It was time to move past the troubles his uncles had so recently caused and to look towards a hopefully more peaceful future. Right now, he would be happy for just one night of peace.

Which was why he was going to take Oizys out on a date.

He was planning on taking her to a nice Italian restaurant he knew of that favored low lighting. He thought Oi might prefer that atmosphere so she wouldn’t have to worry about people staring at her. He did not know why she seemed to have such difficulty accepting the fact that she was a beautiful girl, but he would do what he could to help her relax. After dinner, he would judge how she was feeling and maybe they would go out to a movie. There were a few new ones out that he thought might appeal to her.

He checked himself in the mirror one last time, making sure he looked presentable. He thought he looked good. Zee gave himself a thumb’s up and laughed softly as he grabbed his jacket. Zeus had taught him well of the years, in his opinion. While he would never be as smooth as the king, Zee never had a problem with the ladies.

“Okay. Let’s do this and have a good evening,” he told himself. He peeked out of his door and made sure his siblings were still absent. They were, so he avoided the twenty questions about where he was going and with whom. Zee stepped into Concept and appeared at the Oizys’ door. He knocked politely and waited for her to answer.

He really hoped she had not changed her mind.

Amaterasu was not the sit still and look busy type. She was the type to actually be busy. That meant that on any given day, if she was at The Met, little time was spent behind her desk. She'd spent a total of five minutes there the entire day, in fact.

Ama was standing, now, very close to a glass case with a katana and a wakizashi inside of it. She'd come through the hall
for something else, to check a detail and write it down and go back to her desk, but now she was squinting at the blades in front of her, wondering if the details on the card in front of the case were correct.

She suspected not, and raised her chin and smirked, turning around to continue what she came to do. Her heels clicked on the floor, and she looked up from the paper in her hand to see a different museum case, this time, not even noticing anyone standing near her.
