A Tale of Two City Dwellers (tag: Bast) [02 Jul 2008|03:01pm]
It was good to be back home. Hawaii had been nice, so had seeing Thoth. I had been great to see him so relaxed, even if Bes did think the man still needed to loosen up a bit. After spending a couple more weeks at his bungalow, he soon discovered he was becoming bored. He missed the Big Easy, with its intriguing nightlife, and all the pleasures that went with it.

He sat in the living room, wearing nothing but a loose fitting robe, sucking down a few suds, waiting for the clock, watching Wheel of Fortune. "The Wind In the Willows, you dumb twit!" he yelled at the tv. "How could you not get that? Geez!"

He'd though of calling on Suki, but he didn't really feel the desire to spend an evening at home in the bedroom, which was always how it went.

Petting Zoo (tag: Perses) [02 Jul 2008|08:29pm]
This was by far, by far, the most brilliant plan that she had ever come up with. Lottie paused for a moment to assess that assessment, but sudden motion from her left drew her eye back to her goat, and she went back to congratulating herself. A wide grin displayed her pleasure in her own ingenuity.

Patting herself on the back was better than the alternative of mooning over Pothos too. Even if thinking about how pretty his dark eyes were was a very pleasant pastime. Especially when he smiled, and they got all warm and reminded her of chocolate. That’s what he was like. Chocolate. Irresistible, tempting, bad for you. Except chocolate had some good stuff in it too, like antioxidants, and it was supposedly good for the circulatory system. Like the heart. Pothos was not good for the heart, but there was that whole thing about chocolate being better than sex. And sex with Pothos had been--

Her circular train of thought came to an abrupt halt as there was a bit of a commotion in her yard. It had seemed like a good idea, it was the idea that she’d been so proud of moments before. When her abusive goat’s interest waned in the battered truck she’d parked out back for his amusement, Lottie had felt that she needed to find a replacement quickly. She didn’t want Zed to go back to tearing strips of siding off her house. Inspiration had come from an unlikely source as she passed a playground. )
