Morpheus didn't remember much, but he knew this blackness. He knew it and he knew it well enough to know what it meant. He hadn't seen it in a long while... or what passed as a long while, for a god.
For a god like him.
His mouth twitched into a smile, and Dream sat up straight.
He knew where his body was, exactly where. And he knew who it was lying next to and what they'd done. Parts of him tingled just thinking about it. ( But something occurred to Dream that he'd never thought much about before. )

These things were such a blast, they really were. Maybe he ought to be irritated that people were deliberately dumping stuff into the ocean, but they cleaned up after themselves in the end, and everything was required to be made of environmentally friendly materials. Besides, the manner of the dumping was what made this so much fun. Creativity was always fun to see put in motion.
And motion was what this was all about. Motion of the mind to make these ideas reality. Motion of the body since most of the creations were human-powered. Motion of the homemade air machines attempting to gain flight, and motion as they inevitably crashed into the waves at the end of the dock. Njord just loved these things, and that it was in Florida this year was all the better. Flugtag. Flight day. Except most of the participants didn’t fly at all. ( They swam. )
