Nergal had finished gathering the information he needed and was finally ready to go see his sister. He had needed to know if she were still socializing with foreigners so he wouldn’t have any unpleasant surprises. He had hoped that she would have realized the folly in such alliances by now, but he knew she would still be hanging around those Greeks. Nanshe had such a big heart and was such a wonderful person; it was no wonder that everyone wanted to be in her presence.
The war god went to his sister’s home, eager to see her beautiful face again. He was suddenly concerned when he appeared at her door. Nanshe’s home was dark and silent. This was far from the ordinary, as his sister’s house was usually so full of life. Nergal instantly went on his guard, knowing that some evil force was keeping him from his sister.
