Drinks for Two (tag: Ninkasi) [18 May 2008|12:48pm]
After spending some time with his mother, Nergal was feeling a bit more relaxed. Ninlil always made him feel loved and appreciated, much more than his wife ever did unfortunately. Having fulfilled his duty by seeing his mother, it was time for him to find out who in his pantheon was doing what with whom. And of what foreign pantheons they were doing it all with. Nergal did not really think any of his people would be willing to willing to spy and report on anyone else. But he did have an idea as to who would have the most knowledge in this area.

Unfortunately, the places he was most likely to find her, were the same places that he hated to go into. He wondered if she did that on purpose. )

Fetch [Nike] [18 May 2008|09:58pm]
As Alathea left the throne room, Zeus held out his glass to the air on his left. A silent, gliding bit of white and brown was there in a second, filling the glass again with a liberal portion of bourbon. He swallowed the whole of it, passed his crystal back to his attendant, and stalked down the corridor leading to a set of certain apartments.

None of them were here.

What was the point of housing the children of Styx if they were never where he put them? Growling low in his throat, he propped his shoulder against the door frame to Hera's gardens and counted to ten slowly. Peacocks strutted across the grass a distance away. A fountain gurgled dizzily in the courtyard. His temper did not abate.

It wasn't they whom he was furious with. Nike, Zelos, Kratos, and Bia were more faithful and trustworthy than his own children most of the time. That was what he was angry about. Enyo shouldn't have been simply banished. He should have slain her on the spot and cursed Ares with his sensitivity toward his sister! But one thing was certain: Enyo could not be allowed to continue on as she had been. Rhodes was a disaster. Good Greek men and women were dying or already dead because of Enyo. It was not to be permitted.

Nike was the first of all the children of Styx, the one he had relied on many times. And now that she was returned, she had much to prove. She would be best for what Zeus wanted now.

"Victory," he said at last, when he could keep control of his voice. "Come home. I have need of you."

Pyrrhic Victories (Downtown Cardiff) [Tag: Gwydyon, possibly Morrigan] [18 May 2008|11:45pm]
Like most Old World cities, Cardiff was a maze of streets, avenues, roads, and paths. Even from this low height it looked like a bowl of hard gray pasta, waiting to be eaten by some Titan amongst Titans. That kind of disorder, on such a large scale as this, for something as important as a metropolis, bothered Apollo, in the back of his mind, someplace his waking thought couldn't quite reach or stab its finger at. Someplace that likely, he thought, housed his inborn need for order and beauty in all things. Someplace he had no doubt inherited from his father. Someplace that disliked his home being invaded, someplace that disliked even more than that the assault upon the goddess he was taming.

Or was he? )
