Cold Shade (Morrigan) [08 Feb 2008|12:59pm]
At first it had been nothing more than an anomaly, and one he intended to ignore as fervently as possible. Sometimes souls that did not truly belong in his river would find their way into it. Akheron rarely bothered with such things, just as Charon didn't usually go out of his way to retrieve a soul that fled the safe confines of his boat. Odd since Charon was one of few gods who might have been able to survive such an experience, but Akheron and Charon had never been overly communicative. In any case the presence caught his attention only because there was more in its mind than the pain. That was almost impossible - nothing could endure the river, with its powerful current, but retain some semblance of thought. Of consciousness. No, not impossible. A deity could manage such a feat - but then, why was there a deity in his river when he had no knowledge of it before now? That was one of the largest questions on his mind. Time before the next move, some slight time before it was too late. Time enough to see what had been ensnared by the true guardian of the Underworld.

The water parted before him. )

Out again (Shamash) [08 Feb 2008|04:10pm]
It was time once again to be away from her home and explore the things that she'd missed and found herself wanting to know. The new world called to her in it's peculiar voice and she found it near impossible to ignore.

She knew it wasn't a bad thing, this wanting to know. She couldn't really expect less of herself. Down to the depths of her heart she was a curious being and all the comfort in her home as she had, it still didn't provide her with the things that the outside world could. The people she could find and get to know, the old faces that she loved to see. Home had things that the World Above didn't, of course, but home would always be waiting.

There was only one person that Ereshkigal knew that could help her with what she needed. One person who would help her and guide her and play with her. Sadly, that was not Enki. It should have been Enki. He was her twin. He should have been her conspirator. As it was, he didn't like her to come out of the Underworld and explore things.

That was fine, because there was somebody else who would be more than happy to see her out and about.

It wasn't hard to lock on to where he was and find him there. Though she had no idea where she was when she got there. Ereshkigal supposed it didn't particularly matter. He was here. She ignored her new surroundings for the most part and smiled.

"Shamash." Was all she said. It was so good to see him.

Help (Lottie) [08 Feb 2008|04:26pm]
Oizys found herself confused.

Very confused.

So confused that her confusion was confused.

The only person she could think of that could help her was Lottie. So she decided that she really really needed to see Lottie. And she needed to see her in some place where her confusion couldn't find or follow her and make things worse.

So she went to Lottie's farm.

The goat was there, but her sister wasn't.

Crap.

Oizys looked at the angry old thing and frowned. "Do you know where she went?"

"Naaahhh."

"Do you know when she's coming back?"

"Nahhh."

"Do you even care?"

"Naaah naaah."

"You really are a bastard."

The only thing that she could think of to do now was to go sit on the porch and wait. There was no way that she was going back to the apartment. Phil might be there. And she had no idea where Zelos was, so she wasn't going to even risk going to the Underworld. The safest place was here. With the goat.

The goat came up and butted her on the knee just as soon as she'd sat, so she pushed him away with her foot. This time he got a running start and came at her. Oizys squealed and jumped up, barely in time. It followed her. She ran along the porch and turned to see if it was coming. It was.

Her squeal this time was more of a scream and she jumped over the railing. The goat didn't follow, but ran back down the steps and gave chase. It caught up really quickly. The only thing that Oizys could think to do was climb a tree.

So she did.

The goat butted at it furiously.

Words Of Warning (tag: Gwydyon & Isis) [08 Feb 2008|05:21pm]
This was so not how Bast wanted to spend her day. It was certainly not how she’d envisioned spending it after getting a good look at the god that had appeared beside her on the park bench. It was not how she’d hoped their meeting would go once she’d started speaking to him.

Unfortunately, Gwydyon insisted on speaking with her mother. Which sort of ruined all the wicked and salacious plans that Bast had dreamed up while speaking with him. Not even she would forgo knowledge of whatever trouble Set was causing for some quick fun with an unknown god. Maybe more than some quick fun, she amended as she glanced at him out of the corner of her eye. Again, she reminded herself that knowing what the God of Chaos was up to was necessary in order to keep her brother safe.

But, man, was the featherhead going to owe her for this one. )

When Opportunity Knocks... (Tag: Apollo, Sekhmet, Arianrhod) [08 Feb 2008|08:12pm]
They had gotten their points across, both of them. Gwydyon, and Sekhmet. Sekhmet would support him against the Celt and the Greeks, but refused to lift so much as a finger in aid for Egypt - for their own land, in service of her king. Gwydyon would offer him nothing, nothing but insults aimed at a would-be friend.

Set's temper was legendary. It was astonishing that either would speak to him in the ways that they did.

Perhaps he'd have to start leaving more people alive. Legends did tend to spread quicker that way.

"Apollo, son of Zeus!" Set beckoned, standing on Olympus, at the base of the Shining One's temple steps. He didn't know Olympus well, but he knew it well enough to guide him back to this spot. Gwydyon had brought him here not too long ago, as a spectator to an altercation between he and his sister. Now things were much different. Both times Set found himself here due to Gwydyon, though the cause of this second visit was one even Set hadn't foreseen. You could say the Welshman's criticism had inspired a change of plans. )

Circles (Alathea) [08 Feb 2008|09:06pm]
So here he was again.

In the dark. )
