Prefectly Planned Parties [Open to those invited] [31 Jan 2008|09:57pm]
Paris was the city of lights, and Aphrodite loved being there. Not only was it a second seat of power for the love Goddess, but it was the smell of the air, the love in it. The people whom she adored. Coming here to fall in love. This was the perfect venue for the perfect party.

Everything was perfect. As perfect as she could make it. Of course Aphrodite didn't actually lift a hand to do much more than bring a glass of champagne to her lips. The Graces were wonderful at decorating, and planning. Aphrodite had loads of attendants set up the room exactly as she wanted it. Everything was a deep red, or an antique gold. All the windows' long deep curtains were pulled closed and candles and crystal chandeliers lit the room with a cheerful glow. Flowers everywhere, long roses and pretty smelling lilies just like Aphrodite liked. Food was already set and ready at the table, attendants ready to cater to every whim. Bottle after bottle of every expensive drink and Olympian could ever want.

No one would not be pleased with this party. Cakes and pastries were already cooked and left the room with that sweet scent. Cheeses, fruits, and assorted meats that one would want were all set on a beautiful table set for as many as she invited and not a seat more. Though the room wasn't huge it's ceilings were high and arching. There was a floor to dance on, though she doubted it'd be heavily used considering how private a party this was.

Aphrodite couldn't help but feel a twinge guilty for not inviting everyone in her family, but the fact that Harmonia and her were still not on speaking terms, and Ares was... Ares wouldn't like it anyway so why would it matter? Zeus might have liked it if it weren't for how busy it was. How awkward Olympus had been. How full of rage and soft whispers of woe. Aphrodite didn't even want a part in it. She wanted to be away from it. And so she was.

This party was just to keep in touch with those whom she cared for, those whom she'd trusted over the years, and those whom needed cheering up just as much as the love goddess herself. Aphrodite stood waiting in the main room of the house, attendants were at the door to take coats and greet the guests. Others in the hall to ask what drinks they'd like or if there was anything they wanted.

Aphrodite was waiting to greet them in that hall in turn. She herself, was in a gown of gold, hair pulled back in ringlet curls clasped back in diamonds and rubies. Aphrodite liked to go all out. She loved dressing up, even if she never had to. Even if she could have just worn jeans and gotten away with it perfectly. This was going to be some night. It was going to go perfectly or her attendants would never hear the end of it.

State of Confusion (narrative/open to Dolos) [31 Jan 2008|11:30pm]
She had meant to stay. When she’d walked away from Prometheus, she had meant to return to Dolos’ room to wait for her twin there. Letting the titan run her off would have felt too much like defeat, so Apate had meant to stay.

But as soon as she’d slammed the bedroom door, she knew there was no way that she could remain in the same building with him. Knowing he was downstairs. Arrogant and smug and determined to break her. Fucking bastard. Barely had she sat on the edge of the bed before she was on her feet again, pacing as she contemplated her options. Staying here was out. Going to the Underworld, a place she rarely visited in the best of times, not going to happen. For a moment, she thought of going to Aphrodite. Her mind even briefly touched on Eos. But in the end, other than seeing her twin, all she really wanted was to be alone.

So she went home. )
