Restless (OMG OPEN!) [29 Dec 2007|08:55pm]
Cat-like in her satiation, Arian stretched her bare limbs under the whisper of Apollo's satin sheets. Waking in the yellow-sun bedroom of this Greek was very much to her liking. The room was elegant but masculine; authority scented the air of his temple, and she adored it. What she did not adore was that she had woken alone. He'd never left her before. Then again, perhaps it was best he was gone. She had a tendency of drawing him back under the sheets upon waking at his side, and though it was an excellent way of whiling away the hours of the day, Ari had other things to do as well.

When she sat up, then swung her legs over the edge of the bed, however, she realized that she had nothing to do. If this temple were to be her home for now -- and Apollo had all but offered it to her when he gave her his key -- then she should spend time getting to know the place. There had been a great and vast library behind one of the white-painted doors; perhaps she could find something entertaining there. But in the back of her head, what she really wanted to do was wander the mortal plane for a while. Diversions were always easy to find when it came to mortals. Gwydyon changed everything.

Now that her brother was aware of her existence again, she had no desire for another chance meeting with him. No, it was best if she stay here on Olympus in this temple. Her fingers twitched in annoyance. She wanted to curse something for the spite of all of it, but there was no one.... nothing. Instead, she whirled on the bed and straightened the sheets. Gwydyon. That arrogant ass. He always did know how to ruin things.

Hours later, after she'd thoroughly perused the library and selected a good compilation of Blake's finest poetry, the day found Arian perched on the edge of a swing, just on the edge of the marble spread that served as Apollo's porch. She shoved the hair away from her face for the seventh time, and turned the page.

For all his rhythmic turns of phrase, it was only her will that kept her reading. Lords, she was bored.
