The trouble with it was that it tended to leave one with time to think. To ponder things that might be better left alone. Isis had never learned to leave well enough alone, though. Not when it came to those she cared about.
While Nergal's visit had been rather insightful, it was a different visitor that she was reflecting on. She had thoroughly enjoyed showing Sigyn around her homeland, and had been delighted once again to see the change that had come about in the goddess. She was a far cry from the lost woman that had been looking at hats and ended up crying in Isis' villa, admitting to having chosen at one point to give up on life. All because of one man. A man that had recently returned to her life.
This was what concerned the Queen. From her perspective, Sigyn was just learning her own worth, standing on her own for the first time since her marriage, quite possibly the first time in her entire existence. She couldn't help but worry that the return of her husband so closely on the heels of such a life-altering change might make the Nord revert to her former tendencies. A leapord could most certainly change his spots. The question was whether or not he could retain the new look.
What she needed was someone else's opinion. Someone close enough to know how things really stood between Sigyn and her husband. Only one person came to mind. She had been stayijng at his chateau, after all. Surely the erote could give her some insight?
While Isis found it somewhat crass to simply call on a deity, demanding their presence except in extreme circumstances, she really didn't want to call on him in his French home. It would be better if Sigyn didn't know she was inquiring after her, even if it was in her best interest. People didn't always see it that way. Some even considered it to be rude and meddlesome to worry enough to ask after them. So rather than accidentally bump into the goddess, Isis sent out the call.
"Hedylogos of Greece. Isis of Egypt requests your presence at her temple, if you are free."
