Hey everyone! Erin again, with her fifth char. I'm finally snagging a professor, mwhahaha! So, everyone say hi to Professor Benedict Ogden! He teaches Arithmancy and has done for a couple of years now. If you're a fellow professor, you may call him Dickie. If you're student, you will call him Professor Ogden or he will have you killed. What do you need to know about him, hmmmmm...
-He has an identical twin brother named Bertram, who is an Auror (yes, I just created a world with two NPHs in it! XD) -He and his brother are illegitimate, though pureblooded. Your character may have whatever views on that you like, he's heard it all -Their mother was one of the Ogden's Finest Firewhiskey Ogdens, so the whole family is very well-known. -His mum's family are a crazy bunch of muggle lovers and his dad's are spiteful purists. He had a very confusing childhood. -He was a Slytherin back in the day, primarily due to his ambitious nature. He didn't hate muggleborns. He didn't have an opinion one way or the other, really. -Upon finishing Hogwarts (with amazing marks, thanks very much), he actually spent three years attending Oxford, getting a Masters of Mathematics and Philosophy -during his time at Oxford, he decided that he really didn't care much for muggles - they're far too annoyingly sheep-like for his taste, though he admits that there are exceptions -His stance in the war is very, very neutral. He is the Switzerland of Hogwarts. His loyalty is to he, himself and him. He will not try to sway you. You get to go make your own mistakes, don't blame him for them. -As far as classwork goes, he highly recommends that you do yours. He is fair and more than willing to re-explain anything if asked, but he's strict. If you want to cheat or copy your homework instead of bothering to learn it yourself, he doesn't care, he's not going to check. Just keep in mind that he is very good at anti-cheating spells during quizzes and he just loves using that red ink. -He's very proud, and respects the pride of others, even if he thinks it horribly misplaced. If you want his help, you've got to suck it up and ask for it. You could be dying of thirst in the Sahara and he'll just keep grinning cheerfully at you and taking sips from his canteen off on the sidelines until you come right out and ask if he'll share.
So! Plot, friendlies, people to loathe and be loathed in return, lemme know who's taking Arithmancy! I'm open for anything, as ever. AgentOOAwesome on AIM, feel free to shoot ideas at me. Erin (and Doc/Barty/Ralph/Florean. And Benedict, too.)
