Who: Dumbledore, James, Lily, Marlene, Remus, & Invites Where: Dumbly's office When: Thursday evening What: Formation of the Order Rating: Low
It had been some time since Dumbledore had met with the four Gryffindors. Since then, terrible things had been happening all over the world. Dumbledore had actually been at the Ministry a lot of evenings. The Prophet had only documented the most catastrophic attack, but there were single murders all over the United Kingdom. There were only so many Aurors to go around, and they could only do so much. Dumbledore knew that Tom Riddle's endgame was to gain control of the Ministry, and then Aurors would be doing what he demanded. Although Dumbledore hated endangering students, he had come to the realization he had no choice. Many of them were excellent students who were even more excellent with a wand. They also had fiery tempers and passion, and whole-heartily believed against Tom Riddle.
With no other options, Dumbledore had relayed his trust in the students. While he knew who should be coming tonight, their group would only be as strong as their trust. Two students who did not get along would not fight effectively side by side. Dumbledore expected the invitees to be mostly Gryffindor, with a few Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws. Slytherin would be a lost cause, for it was a well known fact Gryffindors did not make friends with their green-wearing classmates.
Having no control over the situation, Dumbledore was forced to simply wait. Wait in his office, wait for the students to arrive, and wait to see what they could accomplish. For now it would be minimal, but in time it would be effective.
