WHO: Paulie Harper, Dylan Harper, and those invited or coming without an invitation.
WHAT: His surprise birthday party.
WHERE: In the basement.
WHEN: Saturday, after classes.
WHY: Because it's PAULIE'S BIRTHDAY.
RATING: G-PG-13.
STATUS: INCOMPLETE.
NOTE: If your character wants to come, they come. But only certain people were specifically invited. This party was loosely approved by staff, as in, very loose. Loose enough that they don't know about it. But there shouldn't be anything BAD going on, so if they decide to crash, it shouldn't be a problem. That means goody-goodies can come.
Birthdays were special things for the Harpers. They usually meant some kind of cool gift from their parents or a small party or something equally as significant. But Chase adored Paulie and every year, he went bigger with what he could do for his older brother. He'd gotten something smaller at first and then worked his way up until he could offer the biggest present he could afford. And it was a pretty big one.
He'd learned a few charms to make things a little more special. And before long, he'd strung up the posters, rolled out a neat floor cover, and allowed the tables to be set up. Everything was neat and in place, something that most people wouldn't imagine a Harper could do. But he'd studied party planning enough to figure out the most efficient set up for the party. And the common theme with everything was Cassandra Bulstrode. Since Paul was so obsessed, Chase figured he might as well give him something he wanted.
Cassandra's face hung on the wall, her picture moving in hundreds of little boxes that blew kisses, laughed, and waved emphatically. She glittered the glasses on the tables, on the plates, and in the 'crystals' of the chandelier that lit the entire room. He'd used a transfiguration spell that would last at least a day. The punch bowl held a large face of Cassandra, but every time the liquid was poured into a glass, the face transferred there, too. She was on the cake that he'd had made special for Paul. She was on the cookies. She was everywhere. Everywhere.
Chase looked his best in his nice clothes, playing the great part of a good host and had spent the entire day setting everything up, skipping off to class if he had one that demanded he be there. Otherwise, he orchestrated everything to the best of his ability, even leaving his twin out of the production until the last minute. Now, he had settled in a corner after placing the last lid over the twenty large platters that would hold many different foods as the house elves started sending food up. He had talked to them and made certain that they wouldn't mind before planning on using their food. They'd also sent him out of the kitchen with his pockets full of pastries. He hadn't eaten them. He was still upset with everything going on. And with Mafalda's interest in Fabian Prewett, he'd spent his nights everywhere except in the dorm. He went up only when he knew Fabian wasn't there and slept in the common room or other houses. He'd fallen asleep in the basement once and in a classroom. Now, however, he looked dashing. And he was expecting people to show up any minute. There was a table with a few small gifts already placed on it as he'd intercepted any gifts Paulie might have gotten from their parents or siblings already.
He had Eli bringing Paulie down about fifteen minutes after the party 'started' so that he had a grip on who would and wouldn't be there. He couldn't invite the whole school, but he expected other people to show up that hadn't been invited. He hoped for it.
