- The vagabond/criminal on the run who ends up in an isolated town and forms a bond with the cook at the local greasy spoon/pub.
- The paranormal investigator/hunter snooping around the forest, looking for a cryptid only recently discovered.
- Another paranormal creature living out his life in the solitude of the forest.
- For Mads in particular, someone he knew in his former life.
