Six weeks ago roughly 90% of the world's population vanished. Only the organic bits were gone; piles of clothing, jewelry, prosthetic limbs, dental fillings, and implants were left behind. There were accidents as cars lost drivers, as planes lost pilots. Fires as kitchens lost their cooks, as firefighters vanished mid-rescue. Patients died in surgery as doctors and sometimes entire medical staffs vanished.
There was no explanation, no evidence, and no bodies - only clothing and the contents of pockets.
The year is 2020, and the earth has been decimated.
