Cardiff Rift: An AU Torchwood RPG

2013.

London. Glasgow. Cardiff. Dublin.

Torchwoods One, Two, Three and Four.

Alien incursions of varying degrees are almost a daily occurrence, with blowfish driving sports cars not even ranking in the top 10 of strange sights that Torchwood have to deal with. From sentient alien slime to little black boxes that show up everywhere with no explanation or apparent meaning, Torchwood takes it all in stride and handles it. And between the running and the aliens and the fighting for their lives, the Torchwood operatives have to deal with their personal dramas, their office flirtations and domestic issues.

Cardiff Rift is set in an alternate universe where anything is possible. There is plenty of scope for original characters as well as canon, and not all characters need to be directly linked to Torchwood. All of the characters need friends, lovers, family etc.

Come along for the ride.

Hey guys! So I know I did an ad for this guy a while ago when I had no ideas for him, but now I'm back with him firmly in the game [info]cityoangels and completed! Ignore the bio section being blank, as that's a work in progress as the game develops. Anyways! He's got a possible romance line at the moment, but there are many, many lines that I'd love to see filled! :D He's a police officer, particularly in the Gang and Narcotics squad, and when he's at work he's very serious and is intent on getting the job done right the first time as fast as possible. He follows a daily schedule. Outside of the job, he's pretty humorous and flirtatious. Now that you have an idea of who he is, here are a couple of lines I'd like filled for him:

Lines! )

So in the process of creating a new character for [info]cityoangels I realized there were a few line ideas running circles through my mind for my boy Perry here. I'd love it if someone would poke me with an idea of their own or even wanted to tweak something of mine or fill something of mine. It'd be great to see some fresh meat blood faces :3 to plot with.

Ideas I have: )

As for the newest muse, he is one of a twin set, who will be played by Josh Hartnett. So far what I have on him is that: 'His home life is unsatisfying...' (if you get that quote I love you). He wants to believe that partying is a job (I refuse to allow this, though I do not know if I can control that), I have yet to formulate an occupation (though I will be working on that today). He wears glasses, but I'll be honest in that I don't think there is an Rx in them at all. His heart is not one of gold, though it is not quite one of lead. He leans more toward men than he does toward women (sorry ladies). He's prone to headaches and nosebleeds, so I hope you aren't squeamish about blood... or are you? /wink :3 Ah, yes, and his name is Decan.

Comments here or at the OOC post for Perry are welcome :3

The Immune [Apr. 8th, 2013|04:19 pm]

It's 2020; eight years after the pandemic began.

In 2012, the first infected appeared in London. In 2013, it had completely taken Europe. By 2014, it spread to the United States.

By 2016, the entire world was deemed a lost cause. Cities that formerly housed hustling and bustling business, bright lights and constant activity are shells of their former selves. Electricity for the masses is a near-lost memory and now the only places that hold electricity are "safe havens" like shelters or churches. There are no more new cars or cushy apartments.

What little freedoms the infected didn't take away, the government destroyed. People deemed "immune," people who didn't turn when bitten, were forced into servitude. Those who had yet to be bitten had the option to help out as well. Immune, and non-immune helpers, were pushed to the brink of exhaustion by the power hungry government, who sat safely in their safe areas.

Finally, in 2020, people have moved on from the government's games. A small pocket of resistance, residing in New York City, formulated a plan and have created a true "safe haven" in Sing Sing Correctional Facility. No government, and a true safe haven behind walls that no infected can scale. After eight years of oppression, a change has finally begun.

But that change isn't simple, by any means. Now, the survivors have to contend with a constant government threat, and various uncouth rebel groups who want to take advantage of their advances or take them down from the inside. Plus, there's still the constant threat of infection right outside the walls, constantly dwindling the population.

The safety is palpable. But it's definitely better than government control.

Every version of the story is different. The conversations, the tiny details; they're all told in their own way, with different twists and turns and points delivered to properly execute the tale. The story has changed over time, repeatedly leading those belonging to different cultures with opposing beliefs clashing over the subject for hundreds upon hundreds of years. In the end, however, the story never really matters. It's the name, the significance, the idea of what he represents that strikes nothing short of pure terror into the heart of man.

Lucifer. The fallen.

As the angels tell it, it was his refusal to bow to humanity that brought on his fate. He believed that the angels were better, finding God's favoritism toward the mortal beings that walked the earth to be nothing short of distasteful. In turn, Lucifer chose to rebel by wickedly twisting a human into a demon. Rather than bringing forth the change in order as he had hoped, Lucifer instead found himself being punished by God for his disobedience. Delivered from the heavens, Lucifer was forced into a new home - a seemingly impenetrable cage trapped within the fiery depths of Hell. Six hundred seals bound Lucifer to his cage. Six hundred. Only sixty-six, if done correctly, would be required to break in order to free Lucifer from damnation. Thousands of years later, as prophesied, a righteous man shed blood in Hell. Against the torment that found him in the pits, Dean Winchester began to crumble. The very first seal was quick to follow, breaking the pathway to all others like it open to those who sought to free the fallen from his chains at last. Demons began to rise up, led by Lilith - Lucifer's First, the very human that he twisted into a demonic form that brought forth his own downfall - to break the seals. At the same time, perhaps the first in thousands of years, angels too began to route themselves toward the seals to oppose any and all who dared attempt to destroy them. A silent battle, unknown to most of humanity, waged on between the angels and demons.

In the middle of it all, stood two brothers. Each with a role to play, both with the best of intentions at heart. With the angels pushing at one side and a demon guiding the other, the Winchester brothers, too, fought against the demons, steadily gunning their way toward Lilith. The Winchesters were key players in the struggle between Heaven and Hell. That had been anticipated from the beginning. What no one expected was for the impossible to occur: while bordering a little ways short of the halfway point, Lilith destroyed the thirtieth seal and, upon doing so, unknowingly shattered a barrier between worlds. Soon afterward, people from those worlds began to appear out of thin air.

It has been three years since seal number thirty was destroyed. Since then, dozens of people from different universes - good and evil alike - have poured through the cracks in the universes that the seal created, dropping straight into the world that Lilith so eagerly sought to destroy. Those brought through the seal proved to be nothing short of a challenge for Lilith, but with a clever plan already set into motion, Lilith managed to trick one of the Winchester brothers into breaking the final seal. In doing so, Lilith was killed; Lucifer, however, was freed from his cage for the first time in thousands of years. With nothing more than vengeance set in his heart against God and all of humanity, Lucifer began to work. War would no longer be coming; with Lucifer up top and his apocalypse well on the way, it is finally here.

What is just under the surface? To most of the world, they see nothing more than what is right in front of them. To those remaining, they see and feel the ebb and flow of the magical world. And yet, there are some, still, that straddle the worlds of both. Leviathan is that world.

A place that cultures and educates those of supernatural breeding and talent for the service of the Council. The Council which governs them all.

Leviathan is a supernatural themed, university based roleplay game that focuses on writing and creativity. Leviathan contains ADULT concepts with a master/slave theme that goes beyond pointless smut to the storyline behind it.

Just outside of London, vampires, weres, fae, demons, even those rare humans, are selected to better themselves to serve the Council. Or the rare chance that they could be chosen for just one of the family seats on the Council. Once they arrive at Leviathan, it's the Administration's decision if the student is made a Prime or Devoir.
