"Church at war? :: An Overview of the Religious Front"

LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]hummingwolf)

The author of this article seems at times to let his anger overthrow his good sense, but you may still find it worth reading.

Over on the Christdot discussion, one commenter says:

But it gets worse. He quotes a supposedly "Christian" author:

Christians have an obligation, a mandate, a commission, a holy responsibility to reclaim the land for Jesus Christ ...

I know I'm going out on a limb here, but this is the first time I've heard of a modern evangelical calling for reclaiming land as opposed to souls. Either the author of the article isn't swift enough to figure out his source isn't a reputable authority on Christianity, or he's being deliberately deceptive to sell stories. How could a Christian, following Christ, be unaware that Christ himself said, "My kingdom is not of this world"?

As a Christian, I've wondered that myself. But many watching this community will recognize the "supposedly 'Christian' author" being quoted is Dominionist George Grant, who does have undue influence on modern evangelical thought.
