More about the Verichip

LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]rev_erock)

Here's the most recent of my e-mail updates from the Verichip Company. I've put the text that seems especially relevant to me in bold, any comments of my own will be in italics.

Hi Eric,

Below is the most recent news and info
about the Verichip.
It's been a busy month with tons of new
info coming in all the time.
I've included the most interesting and relevant
below. Hope you enjoy.

Keep in mind that although the Verichip "seems" to
be a vehicle that could be used as the mark of the
beast, remember the enemy's (Satan's) main
"gig" or game plan is to deceive.

Deception is something you typically don't
know about until after the fact.

Recently, a friend of mine played a trick
on me. He called me on the phone and pretended to be
someone else. He had me fooled!
I went along with the conversation for about 3 minutes,
answering all his stupid questions. Not until I
asked "him" some questions back did he reveal his
identity. We both got a great laugh.
(It was pretty funny, he pretended
to be a bill collector and really had me going.)
In any case, point being, I was deceived. "During"
most of the phone call, I though he was someone
that he was not. He kept me occupied with
weird questions so I didn't recognized the truth
about who he really was.

I tell you this because the most delightful treat
for the enemy is for us to keep our eye on what he's
doing, ie, on stuff like the Verichip too much...and
off of the most important things...like what God is
doing, on Jesus Christ and our families.

Keeping our eyes open for things like the
mark of the beast is cool, and we should do it,
however, it can become consuming, especially if we
let our minds wonder too much with "what if"
after "what if" scenarios.

Seeing the prophecies of the bible come alive
before our eyes should increase our faith and our
trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is exciting.

However, the enemy wants you to get consumed with the
mark of the beast. He wants you to worry about
what you'll do if the Verichip is presented to you,
he wants you to get consumed with anxiety and doubt, he
even wants you to get angry about the Verichip when you
read how the world is accepting it.

God wants us to trust in Him, knowing He's
got the whole plan already figured out, and has won
the battle.

Many email me asking if the Verichip
is going to become mandatory. Wondering if suddenly
we'll be approached by our government or company
with an ultimatum..."get it or else!"

I have to say, I think Satan is much more
wise than that. The obvious, typical approach
of "get it or else" will not be used until
after the anti-christ is in full control...
that's just my opinion.

Instead, my opinion is that Satan will use his deceptive
forces to trick the non-christian into thinking the
"mark" or the predecessor of the "mark"
(the Verichip or something like it) is a fantastic
discovery that we all need and want.

(huh...you mean the way that you've been doing it?)
Remember Satan's most powerful weapons....lust of
the eyes, the pride of life, and the lust of the
flesh. All which have their roots in deception.

You can bet he'll try to persuade people to get
the mark of the beast by appealing to one of
these things, in our own personal way.

As the Book of Revelation says, Satan will
ultimately force people to get the mark, and
even take their life if they don't. But before
that, I assume he'll use deceptive tactics
to get people to follow him. Again, my opinion.

Again, staying focused on God is key.

The best way to do this is to first, know God.

Second, spend time with God.

Third, deliberately make God your
constant companion everyday.

You can do this through praying,
reading the bible, and taking steps of faith
in your everyday life as you trust God.

This type of life allows you to know that God
is leading your thoughts and actions towards him
and off of the enemy.

(In much the same way that dominionists do)

I'm blabbing I know, and we'll get to the update
in a minute, but I just want to finish by saying
that the heart of whatever the Satan uses to persuade people to get the "mark"
being, will be problably
be deception.
And it's slick deception that puts you on the lookout for deception from everywhere else but itself

And if you're not prepared, you are an easy target
to be deceived. Just like I was when I was
unprepared for my friend to call me pretending to
be someone else.

If I had been prepared, I would of never been deceived.
Get prepared by getting right with God....
You can do that by going to a fundamentalist christian church and sacrificing your independent thought to the whims of the church heirarchy...Actually, forget it, if you're dumb enough not to see this as deception, then you're probably already in a church like that...or taking orders from Tim LaHaye

Thanks for listening...enjoy the update...

Oh, I almost forgot. Two things (really three):

1. Keep an eye out for the new TheVerichip.com website
(It will have a discussion forum open to all
on this list) and many other goodies.

2. The Verichip Underground Report has recently been translated into an African
version.

3. Remember you can get a hard copy of the Verichip
Underground Report mailed to your doorstep which
also includes a bonus not included in the digital version:
See it here:
http://www.theverichip.com/hardcopy.htm

(FYI-The revenue that we get from these sales gets
put towards advertising to attract more people
to TheVerichip.com)So be sure to download it and print it for free instead...there's a whole CHAPTER on how the verichip fits into the book of revelations!

That's about it...

Have a great day, be blessed and enjoy the update below!

The Verichip Update 5

***************************************************

-Verichip Corp. Assures Privacy Is Protected:

Jan. 18, 2005-- VeriChip Vice President Dr. Richard Seelig,
of Medical Applications, presented (upon request) before a
hearing held by the Subcommittee on Privacy and
Confidentiality of the National Committee on Vital and
Health Statistics (NCVHS), a statutory public advisory
body to the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).

The hearing's topic was the privacy implications of
using RFID technology in health care settings.

Dr. Seelig's testimony provided his expert opinion
on safeguards that have been implemented to ensure
privacy in connection with the company's recent
clearance to begin marketing the VeriChip for
healthcare applications.

"As a pioneer in RFID applications, we must take
a leadership role in proactively addressing privacy.

We do this not only because it is responsible, but also
because it is critical for VeriChip's adoption.

Our customers (as well as hospitals, physicians and
other healthcare providers) demand that VeriChip's
convenience and usefulness not be compromised by privacy
concerns," said Michael Krawitz, Applied Digital's Chief
Privacy Officer.

Recently, Scott R. Silverman, the Company's Chief Executive Officer, laid out the
six initial privacy points for the VeriChip technology. "We believe our leadership
role in addressing privacy issues in the RFID arena will continue to grow,"
said Scott.

-New "Verikids" Program:

The VeriChip Corp, a grain of rice-sized radio frequency
identification device microchip, called an RFID, announced
that Brazil and Mexico have begun implanting the chips in
children to track abducted and missing children.

Since 2000 Mexico's National Foundation of Investigations
of Robbed and Missing Children estimates that 133,000
Mexican children have been kidnaped. Large needles are
used to inject the VeriChip RFID under the skin.

The microchip gives off a 125-kilohertz radio frequency
signal, which transmits to a nearby scanner or hand-held wand. Scanners read the
transmitted ID number and use it
to identify the child through a database when a scanner
in areas such as shopping malls, bus stations and airports
where the child might turn up is tripped.

The Verichip Corp. claims that VeriKid RFIDs can communicate whether the child is
unconscious, asleep,
silenced or even dead.

When a ?chipped? child is abducted or missing, authorities
place scanners in areas where the child might turn up ?
such as shopping malls, bus stations, airports and other
areas.

If the child goes by the scanner, the chip triggers the
scanner and alerts authorities to the location.

-Bar in Scottland Uses The Verichip:

Bar Soba in Glasgow joins the two nightclubs in Barcelona
and Rotterdam now using the Verichip. Soba owner Brad
Stevens, who launched the plan after hearing about a
similar scheme in Barcelona, said: 'We want to be the
first bar to do this in Scotland.

Brad Stevens, owner of Bar Soba, said his motivation
for introducing the technology was to be cutting-edge and
to reward loyal customers. He said he had received a
surprisingly enthusiastic response from regulars.

He also said by the time the "chipped" walk through
the door to the bar, their favourite drink is waiting for
them and the bar staff can greet them by name.'

More than 100 people have been 'chipped' at Baja Beach
Club in Barcelona since it became the first to offer the
procedure in March.

-Verichip Lifespan

Experts say The Verichip has a life span of about 20 years

-Tsunami Gives Idea For Chipping Tourists:

Here's the scenario:
Tourists entering a country are scanned at the
immigration checkpoint. They can pay for their
taxis, groceries and hotel rooms with just a
swipe of the hand. As they travel throughout their
holiday destination, they leave behind an electronic
trail which is recorded not only in this country but
also in the home credit card company.

In the event of a calamity like the recent tsunami
disaster, the VeriChips can easily be extracted from
corpses or the details downloaded into a scanner before
a quick burial.

Details are fed into a web-based data bank and instantly a
victims list is made available online to the rest of the
world.

With the incorporation of a transponder into the VeriChip,
sensitive scanners could locate missing persons or even
verify that the owner of that particular chip is no longer
alive.

-VeriPay Is Almost Ready To Market:

Applied Digital Solutions' CEO told attendees of the ID
World 2003 in Paris held in late November, that the
company's newest subdermal radio frequency identification
(RFID) application is nearly ready for market.

VeriPay, a secure, subdermal RFID payment technology for cash and credit transactions,
could make physical money
obsolete.

The company says VeriPay's unique, subdermal format offers
a much more secure, tamper-proof and loss-proof RFID
solution topayment technologies. Applied Digital Solutions
said they're working with banking and credit companies to
develop specific commercial applications -- beginning with
appropriate pilot programs and other market tests -- for
the VeriPay subdermal RFID solution.

-RFID Is Everywhere:

More than 150 million of the Texas Instruments RFID
transponders are embedded in keys for newer vehicles
built by at least three leading makers, and in more than
6 million key-chain gas tags, the researchers said, ?according to a CNN Money story.

Wal-Mart is using the technology to track inventory, the Food and Drug Administration
is considering it to foil
drug counterfeiting, and the medical school at the
University of California, Los Angeles, plans to implant
chips in cadavers to curtail unauthorized sale of body
parts.

America?s Homeland Security department plans to test RFID
tags at US borders, says InformationWeek.

?As part of the project, visitors entering the country will be issued RFID tags
that will track their comings and
goings at border crossings, according to the Department of
Homeland Security,? it states.

?Initially, the government will test RFID tags at a simulated port this spring.
After that, the government
will test the technology at border crossings in Arizona,
New York, and Washington state from the end of July
through spring 2006.?

Asa Hutchinson, Homeland Security undersecretary for
border and transportation security, said, "Through the
use of radio-frequency technology, we see the potential
to not only improve the security of our country, but
also to make the most important infrastructure
enhancements to the U.S. land borders in more than
50 years,? according to InformationWeek.

-Harvard Medical School's chief information officer, Dr. John Halamka, gets the
Verichip

"I'm not endorsing the product, yes or no," Halamka
said. "I'm evaluating the product. So far there've been
no problems." Halamka said he has no financial
relationship with VeriChip or its parent company.

The VeriChip went under Halamka's skin last month.
He said insertion was a 15-minute outpatient procedure.
"There was no residual pain, scar or even a palpable
chip," he said in a statement.

Halamka has since climbed several mountains, including
Mount Washington in sub-freezing temperatures without
any restrictions. He also reported that the reader
accurately read his identification number all of the time.

"The three applications that I envision for the technology are identifying
the non-responsive patient, reducing
medical error by using [radio frequency identification]
to positively identify the patient, nurse and medications during drug administration
and verifying the right medications are being given to the right patient,"
he said.

Richard Seelig, VeriChip vice president of medical
applications, said as key medical decision makers, such as
Harvard Medical School faculty, become familiar with the
VeriChip system, their guidance will improve patient
identification and secure access to health car
information.

-US Government Will Use RFID

In October the Pentagon announced in 2005 that the
government will begin using RFIDs for product inventory
beginning in 2005.

The Department of Defense announced Oct. 23 that the
government will begin using Radio Frequency Identification
(RFID) devices throughout the military and the U.S. for
product inventory beginning in 2005.

Depending on the public?s response, some American?s can
expect to find VeriChips being offered in the U.S. as part
of a child-identification program very soon.

DoD claims RFID technology greatly improves the management
of inventory by providing hands-off processin for
everything from ordnance to office supplies.

The RFID tags will be applied to everything in the military
except sand, gravel, liquids and similar items. Dod expects
the system to not only speed up the inventory process,
but make it more accurate and less susceptible to human
error.

Soldiers won?t be chipped ? yet. At least not in the
United States.

However, the VeriChip is now being used to track people
outside the United States.

-VeriChip Corporation, has retained Oldaker, Biden &
Belair and DCI Group to join its Washington team.

VeriChip's Washington team focuses on ensuring the Company
takes a responsible, patient-oriented leadership role on
privacy matters; educating Congress and other leaders on
VeriChip's utility for certain applications; and generating
government-based revenue from federal agencies that have
needs for VeriChip's loss-proof, tamper-proof
identification technology in the medical and security
arenas.

Bob Belair, one of the principals of Oldaker, Biden &
Belair, formerly served as General Counsel of the National
Commission on the Confidentiality of Health Records and is
recognized internationally as a leader in privacy matters.
DCI Group is a full-service public affairs firm with broad
experience in the technology industry. Clients include
Microsoft and AT&T.

"Washington is a key market for VeriChip and we are
fortunate to now have the resources to add top-notch firms
to our efforts," said Scott R. Silverman, Applied
Digital's Chairman and CEO.

"With the recent FDA clearance to market VeriChip for
its medical applications, we have initiated significant
steps to penetrate the domestic private sector, as
demonstrated by our agreement with Henry Schein, Inc.
the largest distributor of healthcare products to
office-based practitioners in North America.

The potential among the armed services, for example, is
substantial, as the need for secure identification and
access to reliable medical records anywhere in the world
is more important than ever before. We look forward to
working with these leading firms and the Washington Federal
community to make the broad adoption of VeriChip a
reality."
