I was really sad to hear about it, but I don't think cats should be locked in because they don't know how dangerous cars are. They're smart, they'll either learn or they don't (not matter how sad the latter part is)

Well, sometimes you get lucky and a cat really loves the camera :D

None of my cats are kept indoors because of cars, Joey (my this is a cat profile pic cat) was once an outdoors kitty, Meezie is smart and knows to avoid cars, and the kitten was found in a very busy parking lot... so they are all smart. Sadly Joey has FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency virus) so the cats are kept in for his safety and the safety of others. It can be contagious and if any of the cats get sick, there's a risk that Joey can get really sick... So they are indoors. This is probably why they love my plant.

Well, that's a good reason to keep the cats indoors. It's why some people are put in quarantine (or given those mouth pieces, but I don't see cats keeping them on)

The kitten does like wearing his little blue collar with bells (and removing it himself) but the other cats refuse collars and rip them off and apart as soon as possible.
