Log: Roger & Open
Who: Roger Davies & Lavender Brown
What: Puppy Love
When: Today, morning
Where: Baker's Edge
There were times that Roger didn't believes in days off from practice. Often he'd find himself elbow deep in new play scenarios and reading up on the team's next opponent and broken down analyses of past matches against them. Today was not one of those days. Today was a day he wanted to spend outside or doing something. It was nothing against Quidditch or his love for the game, but his mind was feeling a little sluggish so far for a Sunday morning.
He didn't see any of his roommates before leaving the apartment, but he called out something about picking up pastries and then was out the door. It was early enough so he didn't see many people out and about, so once he arrived at Baker's Edge, he'd hardly made eye contact with anyone. He had a handful of pastries in a box along with one he could enjoy then and there and a cup of strong coffee.
The weather was nice enough, so he sat down at one of the small tables outside the shop. He barely had taken sip of coffee before seeing a familiar face walking up the street towards him. A strange feeling took him over, and Roger's eyes widened suddenly, and his cheeks warmed. He couldn't help but grin from ear to ear, but instead of waving hello, he turned his head to the side so they couldn't see his ridiculous grin.
At the same time, though, he didn't want them to pass by and that be it. He uncovered his face and tried to smile in a way that wasn't embarrassing. He giggled a little, actually giggled, and cleared his throat. "Morning," he said, raising his hand in a small, hesitant wave. They stopped and actually looked at him, and all Roger could think in that moment was, Be. Cool.
