[GW] Lice Sucks Even More Than Peas Lice Sucks Even More Than Peas by cozzybob
Pair: Just Duo Warning: lice and graphic descriptions of it.
Note: Based on actual Cozzy memories. Enjoy! I may do another one related to this drabble, depending on how the muse bites.
Tiny legs scurried across his scalp, his hair follicles a nest for hundreds and all their children. He used to think he had dandruff until the bitch nurse with the Holier Than Thou attitude told him those were nits--"Nits?"--"Eggs."--"Oh."--and they would be hatching soon to make even more of the fuckers. After that, he couldn't stop squirming, scratching at his scalp until it was bloody with deep crusty grooves that the lice just seemed to enjoy playing in all the better. Nothing worked, not showers, not baths, not drowning in the sink, not standing in front of a high powered fan. He couldn't scratch them out, he couldn't curse them out, he couldn't even cut them out even if he would consider it because God knows Duo wouldn't dare let Father Maxwell anywhere near him with a pair of scissors. Their first attempt with the cheap shampoo had failed miserably, so now Helen was saving up to for the more expensive variety and that was going to take at least another month. Until then, Duo found himself bullied to hell by not only the students, but the faculty. He was a Grinch with a thirty one and a half foot pole, and he found the only way he could get anyone to touch them, was to beat the piss out of them in a fight. He would come home and he would cry, because he could feel them all over his skin, infecting everything he touched with it's filth, and it wouldn't go away. The children said you get lice when you don't shower. Duo showered three times a day, and still, no one would touch him. No one but Helen. She would hold him and tell him that he didn't smell, and the lice wasn't the end of the world. That is, until she caught it from him. At that point, Duo couldn't blame her anger, because they had to buy two of the expensive shampoo packages, and that was another month spent scratching at his bloody scalp in agony.
