Ever since I got pregnant I find myself trying to 'adopt' stray kids and make sure they're taken care of. Is this normal behavior from me from what you two remember?

Our magic doesn't quite work the way his does, but yeah it should hold up. I went over earlier to make sure it was cleaned up in case he does want to move in.

That pretty much did me in for the day.

Oh I know. I used to magic proof stuff for Harry... Uh, 20 years or so from now. Or just in general. It takes a lot of trial and error. Told mini Harry to let me know if anything explodes.

Mom! You should have called me and Rachel.

I didn't think about it? Next time I will, promise. I'm not used to having to take it easy, guess I'd better get used to it from what you and your sister have told me.

Yep. And I really like being smart Mom. I really do, please take it easy pretty please?

I wouldn't do anything to endanger you two, I just have less energy to begin with these days. I didn't use any chemicals.

Oh the Chemicals were what I was worried about more than anything else. I didn't think you'd be picking anything up.

And maybe some of the wards...

I just vacuumed, dusted and checked that all the spells were still working properly. And I left a batch of fresh chocolate chip cookies on the counter for him.

I've been using magic since I thought boys had cooties, don't worry about me and wards. There's never been any evidence that magic use while pregnant can harm the baby anyway. Unless you're using necromancy or something like that, which I wouldn't touch with a ten foot poll.

Awww you're such a sweet Mommy.

I know I know, but I haven't had any kids yet so how was I supposed to know? And yuck dead things are just yucky. Uh... Besides the vampires.

I really don't know what's come over me. I wasn't this sappy before you all showed up.

Necromancy changes a person, and not for the better. There's a reason most realities outlaw the practice.

I will gladly take the blame for that. I kinda like you all sappy and adorable.

I wont touch it with a ten foot pole.

You don't really know any different do you? Not that I was thrilled right away when you both showed up the first time.

Better not! Or I'll turn you over my knee, or make your uncle do it.

No I don't. You might not have been but you were good with your Mom card.

Uncle Jake is ten. It might be a little weird for him.

I'm sure he won't be ten forever. This island is weird like that. If I could get us all off of here and live someplace normal I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I don't know that I'd want to go. I like it here. I mean all access to all sorts of worlds. It's amazing the places we go, the things we see. The people we meet.

If I take you when you're a kid you won't have a say.

You also have people dying or disappearing at the drop of a hat, if I had a chance I'd rather raise everyone someplace safer.

No, probably not.

We do. But we grew up with it, grew up knowing it's better to know the good people for the short amount of time that we know them that it is to not to have ever met them at all. You learn to treasure the moments you have, and the ones you had. You forget about the bad things people sometimes do and honor the good things they did.

Plus I don't know how many other places I can have six PhDs and be working on my seventh before I hit 25.

How in the world can you get a college degree here, let alone a PhD? Not that I'm questioning your ability to get the knowledge assuming Tony and Bruce are still around by the time you're old enough.

Well, since there is no technical school here we can pretty much take the classes, do the work, fill in the time whenever. There's no set hours. It's more of a honorary thing. I mean I've done all the work, studied all the things in the glasses, had people that could fill in the gaps that are left out in books.

Mister Stark kinda prints the certificates out if we prove we have what it takes to have them.
