I don't know what everyone is doing for Thanksgiving, but I plan on cooking. Despite popular belief, I can cook. I already got the supplies needed, and anyone who would like to can join me. I really need the distraction, since I won't be able to be with my family this year. I suppose they're only my family by marriage, but that doesn't matter, because they're all the family I have left. It's better than none.

Well, you can't be expected to be the life and soul all the time, but it will be good for you to try. I'm sorry about your wife, though. Truly.

Ah, well. It was over quickly, but we lost a few to it. My good friend from home- he was hit, but he hasn't turned up again. Yet, anyway. I have hope. I'm sorry about your nightmares.

That's true. I just have spent the last four years since she died in a funk, and I don't want to do that anymore. I want to be more positive.

That's good that it was over quickly. I am sorry about your friend... I hope he returns to you. I know it is hard to be here without anyone that you know. I am.. well, they're not as bad that I'm here now. They were worse at home.

That's a good sign, I should say.

I do hope so, too. But you know- like I said, eternal optimist, I do have hope. It's difficult, but I have met such wonderful, accepting people here. True friends. I'm thankful for that.

I'm glad for that, at least. It's a small positive.
