Okay, realistically, I can't bunk bunk at my friends houses and play sleep over every night, as fun as that is. I'm a man with needs. And those needs are simple. I need my own bed.

So maybe I'll have a better chance at making my own nightly noises. Cause there's those needs too.

Alright I get you now. And the Galactic Republic?

The Republic was made up of a large number of the inhabited star systems in known galaxy, and existed in one form or another for thousands of years. I don't know if Earth is in my galaxy, but I'd never heard of it before and humans are spread far and wide.

The Jedi were something like a diplomatic and investigative service for the Republic government, though technically independent of it. In times of war we have also been known to serve as military commanders, though in my time the galaxy was at relative peace.

Some of that went over my head, but not all of it. Real H.P. Lovecraft kinda stuff?

I'm sorry but I don't know who that is.

Oh, he's an author, wrote short stories for a little magazine called Weird Tales. Doesn't matter really.

So, outer space?

Yes. I visited several different worlds on missions for the Order but my home was at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, the capital world of the Republic.

Did you get paid for it?

The Order provided for all our needs, but we did receive a small stipend.

Sounds a bit like Job Corps. With a dash of danger.

Danger was definitely a possibility, which is why we were trained in self defense.

So you could probably take me down, if I were going to try anything huh?

With or without the Force. That assumes both you would 'try something' and that I would take offense. As my old master said time and again: always in motion, the future is.

I'm not the sort of guy to make a grab or anything. I flirt, but I'm not a complete grubby handed goon, I might make a verbal pass but never a physical one.

That's good to know. I'd hate to have to break you as soon as you'd gotten healed.

Yeah, I like being in one piece. Though if you like that sort of thing...

Dismembering people is generally frowned upon for any reason.

Oh I didn't mean the one piece part, I meant the physical passes. A dame like you should get swept off her feet, or fins, every now and then and kissed senseless.

Being swept off my feet or 'fins? No, I can't say that I have.

Or being kissed senseless?

That either. There were a few...experiments, but Jedi were forbidden to form relationships that could lead to attachment.

I think I'd rather not talk about such things on the network.
