Freckles brought me this nice shiny new piece of gadgetry and tells me it's called a computer, and spent the better part of a day teaching me how to use it. She deserves a raise, bossman. Or at least a raise in her allowance. She's going to make one hell of a nurse someday.

Anyway, she tells me I need to introduce myself. I'm Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes, Served with the 107th in the war, and got bot bumped up to a special team after a daring rescue from a real good pal of mine, who single handed saved three hundred other men from certain death.

Right, back to the introduction. People I call friends call me Bucky. The dames often called me Sergeant. I'm not going to knock either.

Hey Steve, both of you, who knew that typing class would do me any good, huh? And you thought I was just taking it for the broads.

I'm not much a follower of Hemmingway myself. Wanted to read For Whom the Bell Tolls, but got my shipping papers instead, but none of the other books seem to be my cup of tea. So I don't know whether to congratulate you or give you my condolences. But it's a pleasure all the same.

Eh, it's a little bit of column A and a little bit of column B... I mean, isn't it always? Heh...

Anyway's, it's a pleasure to meet you, as well, Sergeant... But oi, what do you mean exactly by your "Shipping papers" keeping you from reading a book? I mean, couldn't you have packed yourself up with the book, to keep yourself occupied mentally whilst you were travelling in that -- box, I presume? Heh.... Sorry; my humourous is terrible, really!

Not much time for books when you're on the front lines. Besides, I'd rather have had dames keeping me mentally occupied than an old man in the sea.

The box isn't that far off on the description, doll. Not many creature comforts when you're being shipped off to war, so you didn't do too bad.
