What's this planet like? Do we need to worry about toxicity from the soil or atmosphere?

Yes I just arrived yesterday. I'm Abigail Hearns, you are?

Juliet Winters. I just arrived last weekend. Still finding my way around, but most are pretty helpful. Where are you from?

Pleased to meet you Juliet. That's good information to know about the people.

I'm originally from Grayson, in the Yeltsin system. I was currently serving aboard HMS Tristam before I arrived here though, and we were pretty far from home.

So, I'm guessing you're talking about spaceships, and star systems?

Got it in one. In my time humanity had spread beyond the ancient mother world nearly two thousand years ago, and faster than light travel has been around about seven centuries.

Wow, that's almost scary! Well no, to be honest it's bloody terrifying! And exciting!

Why would it be terrifying?

Going that fast? I mean, yeah, OK, not likely to run into too many walls, or other spaceships, but what about meteorites, and space junk? Wouldn't that make a mess of the ship?

Ships have particle shielding, and 'space junk' usually gets taken back to industrial plants and reprocessed. But you aren't going at anything close to light speeds inside the hyper limit of a star system.

The hyper what? Wait, before you answer, want to meet for a coffee, or lunch and talk? I need to eat, and it's easier to listen face to face!

Sounds good to me, where do you want to meet? Also if you've found where to get clothes around here can you show me afterward? All I have are my uniforms and skinsuit.

Sure, I need to get some more, only have my backpack and it didn't have a whole lot of clothes in it. What if I meet you at the diner in 10?

Works for me.

(Ooc: I can put the scene up while you get sack time if you want)
