Okay, so, I know I was at the Sweet Valley Shore. We were going to be lifeguards for the summer. I was ready to make my tan even darker. I really don't know how I ended up on this island. I have never been this far away from Elizabeth....

What if she worries? What am I saying... she will.

Oh, darling, that's just in the good old US of A...! I mean, in the UK, or even the countries I mentioned above -- which HAVE no drinking age at ALL-- well, you'd be set for a good slosh of cordial whenever you wanted to try it first... ! Heh!

Wow. I can't believe I never knew that there was a country where there's not a drinking age...

That's something that I bet my twin sister knows though.

Oh yes? Is your twin sister some sort of geeky genius, then? Reminds me of my brother, rather...!

I mean, there's a drinking age in the UK, of course; we're not completely hedonistic, after all! But still -- well, eighteen is still a LOT more forgiving than twenty-one, am I right?

Sort of... I mean, she doesn't think she's geeky, but I do. She and her geeky friends know stuff like that. Lizzie works for the paper, she does her homework as soon as she gets home, and she actually gets along with her teachers. I don't know how we get along.

Yeah, I think so. It used to be 18 here, according to my mom.

Aw! Yeah, that sounds a lot like my older brother rather...! I mean, we both got along just fine with our teachers, really, but -- well, HE was the REAL geek, rather. I mean, for serious, he used to get so damned gleeful over his Arithmantic proof, whenever he had a "breakthrough" or - well, HE'D always call it a "revelation" - real geeky like, you know what i mean?

G-d, I miss him so much, now...

Oh, were they really now? How long ago WAS that, anyway's?

Oh my God, that's exactly what my sister does. She cares so much about school and stuff. She always lectures me about whether I get my work done for school or not. It's been that way since kindergarten.

I guess the 70s? I mostly couldn't believe that it was that long ago.

"That long ago"? Really now...? I mean, I guess you're from -- well, the present time, as in -- well. 2013, or thereabouts? Because for me, you see,the 70s weren't that long ago...

I mean, sorry, we were talking about our siblings, weren't we? Yes, exactly! My brother was exactly like that -- always SO FOCUSED on his studies, rather than on real life, you know? Why, he was terrified of the opposite sex, and as far as I knew, he NEVER had a girlfriend at ALL... he MUCH preferred the company of his BOOKS- even though you know, they don't keep you warm at night...!

It's the 90s where I'm from. It's about 20 years ago from where I'm standing.

They really don't. But my sister has always been the one man girl type. She dated the BORING Todd Wilkins all through school, from like, middle school until we graduated high school. Then they broke up, even though we were all going to the same college. She's seeing this guy Tom Watts now. He works with her at the paper. It's still... ugh, I don't know how she does the serious relationship thing.

Aw, I dunno...! Serious relationships as far as they go, aren't so bad...! I mean, at least you KNOW that there shall be someone in your BED every night!

I mean, not that I don't enjoy playing the field -- never know when someone better might come along after all -- but really now, I'm happy with Harry my man, for the moment...

I don't think so, I've only been in a couple in my life, and I don't plan on doing it again, ugh.

I am glad you're happy with your man. If Lizzie was here she'd agree with you. I prefer to see what men are out there that will date me.
