Okay, so I am on this island now.... what is there to do around here? I still am not sure how I ended up here... I will never graduate and go to Yale....

	I was actually very excited to graduate and get out of Lima. It's nice to meet you... and I'm used to small towns and not much to do, I'll get used to it. As long as there's books to read I'll be okay. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Yeah, I didn't like school much. I dropped out when I was fourteen. Yeah, I know you can't technically drop out until you're sixteen, but they have to find you first.

I'm from Chicago, born and bred, so I'm not really used to it at all. But that's a good attitude to have.

There are books, books about everyone here. It's kind of creepy, really. Some people have TV shows about them too. I haven't gone down there yet to see if there are any about me; I'm not sure I want to know.

That's true. I was determined not to drop out, because I knew that it would be too hard to have a future. I had already had a baby and given her up.

At least this is an island, which means there's a beach and water. There's none of that in Ohio.

Really? That'll be interesting, meeting someone who's on a tv show. And I'm glad there's books.... it's one of the things I love to do the most.

It is hard. And you were smart to stay in school. I spent a few years on the streets, doing things I'm not at all proud of, and almost fell into...well, someone tried to convince me to become one of the girls at their brothel. Thank god I was rescued from that, you know? I wish sometimes I'd stayed in school, and given myself a chance at a normal life, but it never would have happened anyway. I was too messed up.

Do you ever get to see your baby?

	I am sorry that all of that happened to you. But maybe it was something that you had to learn. I know about being messed up. I really do. It gets better, though. It just takes some time. I have done some things I wasn't proud of, too. Actually, yeah.... but... there's more to that story than there should be. I will have to tell you when I get to know you better.
