"How nice - to feel nothing, and still get full credit for being alive."

~Vonnegut; Slaughterhouse-Five

So there is a bookstore. I love books, I especially love the self-help books in this particular place. Though I must say, my imagination has always served me up with the -- ah, shall we say, finest forms of assistance?

Mm.

I found a copy of Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle which I'm keeping, and Slaughterhouse-Five which I'm reading. I also found a few volumes of Iron Man comic books, which I've taken all the copies of and hidden.

No, it isn't, it's in New York being guarded by Captain America.

At least I had the decency to give my own narrative in my book, I didn't need someone else to do it for me.

Well, that's... different.

Yeah? Found your a bit fucking boring, to be honest. Prefer his plays.

Doesn't it give you a bit of an existential crisis? Being Wilde's creation and all that?

Well his plays weren't worth going to prison for, were they?

I'm Dorian fucking Grey, I don't know the meaning of existential, so why would it?

I don't really give a fuck who you are, actually.

Well, I was done at 'uh huh', but you seemed to need to prove a point. I thought your ego needed constant massaging, so I'd at least pretend to hear you out for a bit. Plus, I told to plenty of people without giving a fuck about them. Boredom does that to you.

I don't really give a fuck about anyone. I'm not capable of it, but I'm still not the one who professed not to care. I just thought you were an illiterate moron -- which, actually, I still think might be true if you didn't have any aesthetic appreciation for my book. Me aside, it's a literary masterpiece, it's incredibly dense.
