	I've had some close calls but nothing serious. I've lost a lot of good men either badly wounded or outright KIA over the last twelve months. I'm not sure what's going to happen next, for all I know they could ship the Division over to the Pacific for the invasion of Japan. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	I've been to London several times on leave back before D-Day. Its a wonderful city. University in Dublin huh? The university I went to in the States is pretty old for us but I'd imagine yours has Franklin and Marshall College beat by a few ~~centuries~~ years. I really hope you get to see London again, she's much better when she's not under fear of air raids, I promise. Trinity was Est. in 1592 -- so I think it may have you beat, but that's all right. It's just the building thats old, if they minds were, they'd never be any use to anyone, would they?

How much do you know about Pure mathematics, speculative mathematics? It's a bit like theoretical physics, not about ...ah, how things work, but about how that which we don't understand... might? That's what I did...

and then I became a painter! Because theoretical science and looking at a blank canvas and making something happen, well, it's all about the same.

	Well the war is over in Europe now, I'm sure I'll get a chance to see London and Paris both before we head out to wherever we're going next. A graduate of trinity, wow. 	Cityscapes, buildings -- architecture. They're something beautiful in the way we made the world and how she fits together. We're the gods of civilisation and I think our creation should be captured with all the integrity of the sweeping landscapes and sunset portraits of the past. (Reply to this) (Parent)
