Is this how mourning goes? You have so many good days, that you're lead to believe that you're okay. And then something suddenly reminds you of who you lost and it's like your world crumbles around you all over again? Jason wasn't like thi

One stupid song that that stupid train made me sing starts playing out of nowhere, and I want to crawl under a fucking rock and stay there.

I need a distraction.

Because one baby is enough for me right now. And if I'm back to normal I don't have to worry about it until December.

That's not too strange, people's homes have been cropping up all over the place. Heck the Golden Hall from Lord of the Rings showed up the other day.

Thank you for the invitation, sugar. I will be glad to take you up on it.

Oh. But I thought there were all sorts of preventative measures you could take nowadays?

How interesting. I don't know whether to be creeped out or comforted.

You're welcome. It would be nice to build some happier memories around the place.

There are but if I'm hoping to be back to normal before one set would get to working, and the others... Well I guess they're handy if it's not spontaneous. If it's planned and I can remember to snag a box.

Honolulu Heights, where I'm staying, is where Mitchell, George, and Annie lived in Wales. If that helps with the being comforted bit?

I hope I can help you do that.

They take time to work? I'm a bit clueless, I admit. We weren't particularly informed.

Perhaps, a little. The building is rather haunted for me. So hopefully we can change that, yes.

Yeah, birth control pills do, or the box says they should be in your system, or my system, for ten days before engaging in sexual actiity. I don't know about the other stuff, I didn't see any reason to look into it if I didn't have to worry about them.

Mind if I ask how?

I see. That changes things. We had condoms, but there was a lot of controversy about it all. I can hardly imagine the uproar there would have been over a pill like that.

It's a little complicated. The house was for Daisy, but- it was a mistake. I made a mistake. And I died in the pool. I hope that doesn't put you off, I just- don't want to keep staring at it like it's a damn gravestone.

I don't understand what the controversy is in condoms really. It prevents unwanted babies, and STDs. They aren't as fun as skin on skin, but what can you do.

Think you could help me teach Tim how to swim? I'll be glad to help you make it someplace happy rather than someplace full of bad memories.

The idea that there are any unwanted babies is the controversy. That a child should be considered a gift from God, or God's will, or- I don't know. From what I understand, many Christians in America feel the need to attach a great deal of shame to sex. That it is an necessary evil required for procreation only. From a Jewish perspective, we don't think of sex as shameful, or something that is only necessary for procreation. We think of it the same as hunger or thirst. Just another reason I will never be considered a respectable gentleman, you see.

I would love to. Thank you, that would be wonderful. I hope it will provide both of us with a welcome distraction.

I guess I wouldn't be all that respectable either. I could totally come buy the booze for my brothel from you, sugar. ... Did they still have Brothels back then?

Would you be uncomfortable if I wore a bikini? I'll go hunt down a one piece instead if it does.

Being respectable is terribly overrated, anyhow. Oh, yes, certainly. I think there have been brothels around since- goodness, before Shakespeare, I should imagine. You had a brothel? Or are you talking figuratively?

I'm sorry, I don't know what a bikini is?

Oh no, I could just see myself having one. I would have been a boisterous Madam, at the old age of twenty-six.

Well, technically it's a bathing suit made to resemble the undergarments of a woman.

Ah, wonderful. I suppose you'd end up burnt at the stake or something if you attempted anything like that here. The conversation about strippers grew wildly out of hand.

I don't understand. Do they not resemble underwear to begin with? Well. Wear whatever you are comfortable in. As long as you are comfortable, I will be fine with it.

Well, there aren't enough girls here for it, and what's the point if you can give it away free? Man I really missed the stripper conversation. It must have happened while da

Um, not really? At least not any underwear that I've ever worn. But if my current bathing suit makes you all adorably blushy it'll give me a reason to finally take the cute vintage one piece that I've had my eye on, but have had no reason to wear it.

Good point. You didn't miss much. I didn't get involved, but it was a little unpleasant to see that such harsh judgement still remains in the world. Or in other worlds, also.

Ah, then I think perhaps we have even reached difficulties in communication regarding underwear. No matter. It is only to be expected that things have changed. Well, wonderful. I'm glad to give you an excuse!

I suppose it's going to, especially with a melting pot like this. I thought America was a melting pot of people, this is like a melting pot of a melting pot! It sucks sometimes. But I've met people like you, who don't care, who live and let live. And make this place worth living in, and the judgements ignorable.

I don't know what underwear looked like back then I guess. I guess you'll see how much they've changed... And I'll only get it if you blush.

You think Is it a bad thing It would be hypocritical of me to think badly of a melting pot culture. I'm glad that you think well of me.

I don't really know how to describe it. Similar to the swimsuits in shape. I guess so, I'll consider it educational.

Me too, that's not the part that sucks. It's the status quo and the prejudices that they bring with them. As if they matter here. If there's majority or minority, how can satus quo and prejudices matter? I mean does it really matter that I'm richer in this place than I have been anywhere else in my entire life? And I'm not just talking stuff. I'm talking friends too.

That seems like it would be a bit uncomfortable. Not the bathing suit but the underwear. Especially if nature was calling in an emergency call. I promise my bikini is more covering than most the other things I wear, or... I think that's how it's perceived.

I've never heard anyone talk like that before, but I completely agree.

Yes, it can be rather complicated. Made gaining access without causing yourself personal injury rather tricky, although perhaps that was the intention. That's how it's perceived? How odd.

Er, and I meant no majority or minority, I got a little excited and forgot a word... See what you do to me? But I'm glad you agree.

Now I have to ask, have you received that sort of injury?

Er, yes, it is but that's because I've been caught hunting or fishing and I don't tend to wear a lot when I do that. If I do I get sweaty, and the animals I hunt tend to smell me and runaway. So I stick to a camisole and a pair of shorts that are just a little bit shorter than men's boxers. Er but they're tight.

Yes, I figured it out, not to worry.

Ah, yes. Snapped garters deliver quite the slap.

I see. I shouldn't think it would matter much during sport. But as I said, I would hardly call myself an example of good morals. Women didn't tend to wear much at the "drug store".

Oh good!

That probably shouldn't have made me giggle as hard as it did. I'm sorry, even though you can't hear me.

Well, most men wear fatigues and thick clothing and waders and all that sort of razzledazzle when they hunt or fish. I guess it's a little odd seeing a girl without any of it. I'm not going to lie though. The idea of going starkers holds a lot of appeal to me. But I don't think that has much to do about morals than it does knowing how nice the breeze feels on bare skin. But then my morals aren't that good either.
