I have a suggestion. Take it as you will, of course. Rather than letting the meat go to waste, I think it would be more productive to dry it and store it that way. It will keep longer, instead of forcing yourself away from the cooling containers.

It's a natural and old method of meat preservation that consists of gradual dehydration.

And one we use a lot in Gondor, and around the other realms, as the idea of freezing anything is unheard of.

Humans are omnivores, madam, we eat both plants and meat and have done so for many centuries. While we could survive on merely plants it is better for our health to have some amount of meat in our diet as well.

I know that Men like meat; my granddaughter's husband is quite fond of it. But whether it is necessary for your health; I am not certain.

It depends on what's being done. Meat provides a great deal of 'fuel' in a concentrated form.

Ah, but my lord husband fought the Morgoth with naught but vegetables in his stomach.

You are not human, my lady.

Is it the souls of animals that give you strength, then?

Animals have no souls, my lady.

Indeed they do!

Perhaps this is simply another difference between humans and elves? I find it hard to believe a human army could fight at full strength on vegetables alone.
