I heard a voice that the Wise hear out of the darkness and from beyond it.

But I do not think myself dead or dying. Whither have I come? Is it the Gate from beyond which none return?

I fear that my explanations will be of little use to you, lady, as there is little I know though I have been here some time. It is a strange place, full of fell sorcery, but benevolent, for the most part. More than that I cannot stay.

I can tell you to avoid the spire in the middle of town - it seems that it is from the spire that much of the magic comes.

As for shelter, there is a building of rooms in the center of town. Many of the elves - and myself, as I am wed to one of their number - live near the coast, in what appears in every way to be Vinyamar.
