Hey Islanders.

My name's Blaine Anderson, I just sort of arrived here yesterday, and I don't know if it's customary to introduce yourself on arrival, but hey! Got to be better than just wandering around not knowing anyone.

And hey, it's so weird that this thing has like loads of weird little pictures of me that I didn't even know existed.

Umm- so, I'm a senior from western Ohio. I love singing, boxing, and college football.

Now it's your turn!

Well [...] I hate to bring you down like this, but, I have netastasised bone cancer [...] at least, I think that's how you spell it, even though there's an angry red line under that word on this screen...! Anyhow, that just means it's metastasised to my brain, and caught my lungs, along the way. [...] So yes, if there's not a magical cure on this here Island, well, I'm gonna die within a few months..! Again, really sorry to bring you down like this!

But yes, sparring practice, as you put it [...] would work well for me, I think... just in case there /are/ any bullies here, you know? I'm a prime target, myself: the quintessential Geek!

Oh, shit. Well, I'm sorry to hear that. You should probably find out if there are some doctors on the island- I think there are, I heard some of them on the radio yesterday, I think.

Okay, well- as long as you feel up to it? I mean, if you're not in the best of health, I don't know how good an idea that is. Maybe you should ask the doctors first, I wouldn't want to hurt you.

Ha...! That's really very kind of you, but... like I said, I need a miracle, magical cure to get off this death train, so to speak, because well, the doctors back home, had pretty much given up on me...! There was a rather /large/ tumour in my brain; I consider it bad Karma. I think - I deserve to die -- if I can't get my friends to confess to what they did to the Man! And I don't see how I can do that [...] when the Hourglass runs so low for me...!

And again, you're very kind to worry about my health (or rather, lack of it) but - the bullies, if they DO exist on this island, won't be so considerate...

Okay, well I'm no doctor, but I mean, even if they can't cure you, they should be able to offer you something to ease your symptoms and make you comfortable. It seems kind of silly not to let them help you, but- I mean, it's up to you, obviously.

Yeah, I mean, I guess that's true. Maybe I could teach you some of the theory, but I'm not exactly comfortable fighting someone with terminal cancer.

I suppose you too have point, but... as I do believe in Karma, well - I think this suffering is - well, cleansing, really! I'm sorry, but -- you know, maybe I /will/ go to the doctors...! I mean, the pain is unbearable, almost, without my pills, and [...] I am almost out...! Ruh-roh, as Scooby-Doo would say! ha ha!

Sorry, to make light of it all like this; I suppose, maybe I've just... accepted my fate, you know? I mean, theory would be good, even! I think I've never even /watched/ any boxing or anything of the sort; I don't think I've been "involved" in any sports that my - best friend Tony did...! Which of course, he limited himself to basketball and track - and sometimes, football, too...

Sorry, obviously I meant any spots my best friend was NOT involved in...!

Okay, well it's up to you, it's just a suggestion. I don't really see the point in you suffering unnecessarily, but if that's what you believe- I guess that's your choice. I don't buy into it, I don't think anyone deserves suffering, but- okay.

People deal with illness in different ways, I'm not here to judge. Well, we can watch boxing, if you like. Or any other sports, really.

Okay mate, first of all, what's with the [...]? It's really awkward to read. Secondly, I'm not a doctor but I've been in hospital enough to raise this subject- so you have brain, bone, and lung cancer and you think you should be doing rigorous exercise that will involve you being hit or at least putting strain on your body? I mean, your bones, your brain, your lungs. You need every single one of them to do exercise. Who in their right mind is going to want to do anything rough and physical with you?

FYI, there are no bullies here.
