I have heard tell from the other ladies that there is a pill that I may take to make it impossible for me to conceive. Is this true, or just a legend?

For I should dearly like to have some of these pills if they are real. I cannot (nor do I wish!) to refuse my husband forever, but I am not ready for another child.

I do not think that I am a child. But I do not think I am ready to be a mother. I think I should like to enjoy being a wife, and a woman first.

Then do so! Live for yourself before you live for another.

It is not wrong, or selfish of me?

Nay! Never, it could never be wrong. You are your own person first, and everything else that you are follows.

You are not just the daughter, sister, wife or mother of someone else. You are you, and you first. Lothíriel of Rohan and of Dol Amroth.

I have never thought of myself like that. I have always belonged to another.

Many like to perpetuate the idea that a woman is only valuable in so much as she is loved or valued by a man, but that is not true. You are a person. All women are people, and have inherent worth and value as such. Remember it. Fight for it. Love yourself and value yourself for more than what your body offers a man.

It is a hard thing to accept, my lady. My father - he taught me and told me many things that are contrary to what you say, although I think he is wrong in much. I think...I think perhaps he may be one of those of whom you speak, and he has tried to teach me to be as well.

But my husband, bless him, he wants me to think for myself. He wants me to be my own person.

But it has been hard.

Of course; the teachings of fathers are hard to break free from. Especially when society does all it may to perpetuate the ideas fathers teach. But your husband encourages you rather than hold you back! And with it you may find your strength and your own mind and body.

Yes, I think that is what I would like. I would like that very much.

That is why I want this...implant, whatever it is. Because I know in time I shall very much want to be with my husband again, but children...I do not think that will come so soon. Not before I find my own way.

Be proud! Proud that you are taking control of not only your body, but also your life.
