Hello sir, we've spoken briefly before. I write to you now for one purpose. I met you in New York City several months ago, before I was brought here. I know you are an engineer yourself, and as an architect and structural engineer myself I think we have some common interests.

[edited AFTER Turgon's apology]

Your Lady (future) Wife wants to raise a barn, and I suggested.. she do it properly. As an architect I cannot stomach the idea that she build anything that is not structurally sound. I think I offended her

I'm sorry! I apologized

I offended her, I think, and as such I think she has chosen to ignore my expertise when it comes to building anything. So I hope for her sake and the safety of all on the island that you counsel her to build the barn properly. You are an engineer, and I trust you understand the importance of making sure your foundations are sound before moving forward.

I think she will listen to you as she loves you, more than she will me.

[added]

I don't doubt Lady Applejack's ability to raise a barn. In her reality it makes perfect sense on a logical and .. physical scale. But I think as engineers we know that despite the magic of our own worlds, and this one, physics still play a large role in structural design.

If you could counsel her and the other volunteers to lay blocks and cement as the foundation before the day of the actual raising, and allow time to dry and set, it would stand better. It should take at least a week for it to settle properly. Then they might use wood-peg mortise and tenon joint construction, but may also use more modern materials and techniques that you have available. I saw Stark Tower and so I assume you have much available to you?

And once that finishes then you might apply the wood frame structure, which would take a day with her harnessing the community to see it done.

I don't want anyone hurt.

And I am sorry for rambling. Give me but a minute and I will take a year to speak.

I am also sorry for intruding. If you find my attempts to help offensive I do apologize and assure you I shall not step in again.

It's only that building is my life, my hobby, and my passion. I know what I'm talking about as surely as you know mechanics and science. I would defer to your wisdom every day on the building of a suit of a iron rather than assume I know how to do it of my own accord after reading a few books on wiring.

Sorry! Sorry. I am rambling again.

Also I've met Rainbow Dash in New York City as well. They're a very interesting group.

Yes sorry. He thought it would just make it worse.
