I had hoped that when I departed New York it might be to return to Gondolin. But I see that fate would not have it be so.

Less this is all that remains of my city. As she will indeed be consigned to the sea.

Indeed? I didn't know that...! Well, I'm glad to hear that YOU have some more skill at the craft of - well, generally just, crafty, I suppose I mean...! I mean, I saw your wife's gushing, above!

Ah yes, of course you wouldn't know...! I'm sorry, milord! I mean, a wand would require a swatch of wood, sanded and whittled into a smooth shape, similar to the hand of the user, and threaded through with a core from a magical animal: such as a hair from a unicorn's mane or tail, which I've already managed to collect! I've also spotted a certain tree that... sort of called to me, I suppose you'd say - inside the forest, but... well, I had intended to take the maker of the wand back to it, with me, that he or she might be able to remove the swatch of wood him-or-herself...! Just because I know next to NOTHING of wand-making, and thus - well, I thought it would be better to take someone who KNOWS what they're doing...!

But still, if you're available today, milord, I can take YOU to the tree anyhow...!

I build cities, my lady, that is my design. I cannot promise that I will succeed in this task but I will certainly try. It will be a prototype I create first, and then if I am satisfied I will thread the hair of the unicorn into another.

Oh, you're too much, calling me "my lady," milord...! I am NO lady - nay, at all, really!

Indeed? Cities? How... lovely, really! I mean, if you DO build CITIES, then... well... Whittling SHOULD be among your skillset I trust? So... I can take you into the forest, of course, whenever you're available, and then... well, I DO have a whole HANDFUL of unicorn's hairs; the dear little colt allowed me to brush its mane for a good ten minutes before it skittered off...! heh...! Anyhow, if you DO make a working model from the unicorn's hair, well, I COULD test to make sure it works, before you made the final product -if, indeed, you even NEEDED to make a "Final Product" after the prototype...!

And yet you have given me no other name by which to call you, my lady.

But very well. Keep all your hairs but one, I must first work the wood and decide how best to weave the hair within.

((ooc: with full apologies to the lyricist of Man of La Mancha for filching his lines...! xD<3))

Oh, right! Sorry! Heh! I'm called Mary Selwyn, milord...! And PLEASE stop calling me "My Lady", for a lady has modest and maidenly airs, and a virtue I somehow suspect that I lack...!

Oh aye, indeed, milord; I can do that...!

A star shines on the hour of our meeting, Lady Mary.

I am Turgon, Lord of Gondolin and High King of the Noldor

Indeed, well met, milord... But really now, I'm NOT a lady...! Only an Auror, a Dark Wizard hunter. If you DO insist on a title of some sort to apply to me, please make it Auror Selwyn, or else, simply Mary, rather than any of this "my Lady" nonsense... for really, i am NO lady, by any definition of the word save, naturellement, the FEMALE human being meaning...!

I am much more comfortable addressing you as 'lady', but if you insist I shall of course acquiesce, Lady Auror Selwyn.

...Actually, I think I'd prefer something more casual than THAT, even...! But if you insist upon a TITLE, milord, well... I'll give up arguing with you... Heh! Sorry!

That is to say... So sorry for making you so uncomfortable, milord, when you're doing SO MUCH to help me...!

I assure you, milady, that arguing with him is an entirely pointless task.
