I think you should know that a vampire from my world has just arrived. Her name is Daisy Hannigan-Spiteri and the last time I met her she didn't mind killing.

If you want to kill a vampire, yes, staking them is the right way to go.

What also effects them are religious symbols. Lock them up in a room and put crosses on the door and near the window. As long as no human enters it's a good trap. But vampires can be very good liars, it's not 100% secure.

If you aim to kill, fire is good. Cutting them to pieces wouldn't be enough. I don't know how but they can be brought back from that. Something like shooting them would certainly knock them out until whatever needs to be done is done though.

Basically, we don't have to drink to survive. Daisy isn't a total monster but the vampirism, it brings out the worst in people. If I understand it right, she comes from a point in time where she has suffered an immense loss and done something extremely horrible. I've done the same and afterwards I was only a shadow of myself anymore. The vampire in me became stronger. You can try to convince her to stop drinking but I don't think it will work. I'm the best example that relapse is a fucking part of the addiction.

There are your options.
