I do not spare those who have no heart to spare others. I did not say male, because in my mind that is spared for nothing but beasts and bird, and I fear kinship with the likes of him would be insult to such fair creatures.

It is hardly a betrayal when a man cannot preform, for various reasons such as disease or war, for another to... give him an heir. It is quite common place where I am from, especially with nobility, it is simply not spoken of openly. The woman is hardly considered a 'whore' as he would call it. She is simply doing her duty to her husband.

But we are not Men, or the Children of Men and so you cannot hold us to such standards. We are not plagued by the ailments in body of mortals and cannot be assailed by disease that would end your lives in hundreds overnight. He has borne a child as all the men of the Elves are able, and as women amongst us are able.

It is the height of dishonor to suggest a wife or husband would lay with another. We love but once in our lives and it is for eternity; and it is for love that we marry. And marriage is the very act of laying together as one in body. Such betrayal then it would be to lay with another.

I am sorry for my cousin's words, truly. He has not had many dealings with the Children of Men and he has known many betrayals at their hands. It is a cruel world we live in. Which is no excuse, but he needs time to learn.
