I expect them to be different, only that.. I know Tuor. I have known him what feels for all my life. Or at least, all his. But he is as new and strange as he was the day I first met him.

Completely infatuated with me but.. afraid, I think, of what that means for him. And it is so strange, cousin! So strange because I know him to have accepted our differences and come to love me no less and I him. I expect it of him.

And that is wrong, yes? To want him to be the man I grew to love. Not one I thought a child's delight.

I mourn it. I mourn what cannot be in this place. I want my husband and what I have found is a version of him that I do love dearly, but one that is not what I know him to be.

	It is not wrong, of course it is not. There is nothing wrong with wanting the man you love. But...he is the many you love, Idril. He is here, when so many have lost those they love, forever, or are not lucky enough to have them here. Take heart in that.
