Is this some foul new sorcery?

Or have I fallen already, and now find myself in the resting place of men's spirits?

We come from very different places sir. Jedi are all manner of beings and genders, all united by the ability to sense and use the Force. Our order is dedicated to the protection of the galactic Republic the realm.

I know not what this "force" is. But I know what it is to dedicate oneself to the protection of the realm. I have spent my life doing so.

As have I. Jedi begin our training nearly as soon as we start to walk.

The Force is what gives a Jedi their power, it is hard to explain to those who cannot sense it, but is an energy field created by all living things. Someone who is sensitive to it and trained in its use can go beyond the normal limits of their species, and it can warn of impending danger. Forgive me, I am not very good at explaining it, my mentor was much better at it than I.
