Day 1

I know not where I am, or indeed, how I've come to be here. 'Here' in the strictest of sense of the word means little as 'here' registers in no place that I have ever been before or that I have ever read in any text. The sights are unfamiliar, the sounds more so and there are no living souls whom I recognize. I would say that kidnapping is illogical at best, but I'm uncertain if that is what has occurred now - I am not being held hostage, though being brought here was very much against my will.

My daughter appears to be in residence though she speaks of changes I am unfamiliar with. Wed to Éomer of the Mark and with child. She was not a girl the last day that I saw her--early yesterday morning--but neither had she taken a husband.

I had planned for their union.

But that it has come to pass without my knowledge or memory of it is more troubling than words may describe.
